Nice plants! I have always had a soft spot for Blueberry. I love the smoke but is no good for commercial grows unfortunately. If anyone knows of a Blueberry strain that has all the Blueberry traits but produces a large yeild, please let me know. I have been searching for years and can't find exactly what I am looking for. I need yeild!

I have a DP Blueberry clone that is a fair producer and a solid 9 out of 10 for potency. She is the best tasting herb I have had in years and tastes just as her name describes. Unfortunately she is only a moderate yeilder, but the biggest I have found for Blueberry. I am very happy with her to say the least and always grow a few specimens of her beside the big grow - just for personal.

By the way, do you know where your Blueberry originated from? DJ Short, DP ect.???

Good luck on the grow and keep us posted on how they do.

dutch passion's blueberry is a very fun plant (i have 8 in flower, 16 in veg) but as far as yeild, this is not a yeild limmited strain.

Keep in mind that there is a limit to how much you can prune a marijuana plant. If you prune the stem, it will split in two. You can prune both of these new stems and end up with four stems. You can try to prune each of these four stems to create eight stems, but results will depend on the strain and its genetically predetermined branching limit. You might be able to prune some of the lateral branches, but again, if the plant has reached its threshold it will not produce more branches. All strains are different in this respect.

Depending on the strain and the growing environment, the 'topped' plant may produce two small top colas instead of two big ones. Also, each strain has a threshold for bud production that cannot be improved upon because it is a genetically predetermined factor. On the other hand, some plants when fully grown without topping do not reach their threshold. The strain Blueberry is a good example of this. If you grow Blueberry without topping you won't achieve maximum bud production from that plant, but if you top the Blueberry, you will. Other strains aren't so flexible and the two top colas will simply share the same volume of bud that a single cola would have produced on the same strain.

It's advised that you keep in mind that pruning for yield using the topping method is strain-dependent and experiment carefully with this pruning method. Do this with 2 out of 10 plants in every grow. You'll find in time that during this vegetative prune you will be able to shape your plant. Plants are generally pruned three to four weeks into their vegetative cycle, but can be pruned sooner or later or more than once.

my smallest blueberry has 23 main branches, and i've seen pics of a bb gow that produce almost 1/2 pound per plant!!

hey buster looking forward to this one ive followed on with some of your earlier grows and they kicked ass...

TGT just incase you didnt know ive read that you need to top bluebery to get its full potential have you tried that? maybe a little bit of lst that might solve some of your yeild problems.. if you did know.. i probably look like a jackass right now.. :stoned:

Btw Brook your blueberrys sound awesome 23 main branches.. that sounds sweet

looks good, make sure you top; all the lateral branches will become like new plants.

i have 5 bb's in a 4'x8'x4' box, and they completely fill it. i topped at 12 nodes, so all plants have 24 branches, each with their own lateral branches. bb becomes a monter when topped...lst keeps em small.

LST keeping them small? That's the idea! People use LST to keep the plants from getting too tall, to avoid them growing into lamps. Topping is so you get 2 colas instead of one, although not all strains respond well to topping.

And topping doesnt always help, sometimes you can top and get twise as much as one cola, other times you can get the same amount as you'd have got with one cola.

Depends on strain, and growing specs.
