Hi all, these are mixed strains from clones. They are at day 38 of flowering. I do not have a microscope or a magnifying glass with a light so it is hard to see the trichome color. I know you pull your plants when 75% of the trichomes are amber in color for a good even smoke. Some of the buds are getting orange hairs as you can see in the pictures so is this also a good indicator? We are strongly considering switching to just water and flushing for 2 weeks since the smell in the room is getting pungent. I know buds put on the majority of their weight in the last 2 weeks too so I am really trying to avoid pulling early if I don't have to.

more pics. The buds should probably be a little bigger given their age, but there are too many plants for the light to cover, and we have had some nutrient problems. Next grow should be much better.

ya the spide mite thing has come up in the last few weeks and turned out to be a real problem. We can't spray with neem oil since it is past week 3 of flowering. We have a no pest strip hanging and I hope that can kill them in time but if not oh well. And what do you mean "when they come" check mark 9?. Near as I can tell they are all over the buds. Thanks for the help though.

Hey man if you have a couple weeks left use some pyrethrum...I use the fox farm brand. It breaks down in that time.

you dont want 75% amber. thats past prime. you want only a few amber, all the rest cloudy. the bud will continue to age after you cut it.

if you are careful, you can still use neem oil. just watch the buds and tops of the crystally leaves. you can also get fungus that gets rid of the spider mites and can be used late into flowering. It wont kill the eggs but it wont affect the smoke.

thanks for the tips. We are currently having a major issue not with the mites but with some root rot. We changed the nutrients 2 days ago only to find slimy shit all over the roots. The largest plant has nearly all of it's fan leaves turned to yellow and falling off. The buds have very little crystals on them while the other plants' buds are getting fairly large and compact. We were thinking about harvesting the big plant but I think we might just end up harvesting everything at once in stead.
