I oredered a packet of Northern Lights from KC Brains a couple weeks ago they arrived 3 days ago and have been "germinating" ever since.Either this strain takes longer to germinate than any other I've tried or the seeds were crap to begin with.I was so looking forward to growing the strain that I've heard nothing but good things about ,but it ain't lookin good for that to happen this go 'round.
Today I ordered some K-2 seeds from Nirvana Seeds.Hopefully they will work. I'm not sure if all seed companies are like KC or not ,but KC does not guarantee their seeds in the least.I can somewhat understand this policy to some extent, but either way ,it sucks a big one when you wait for 2 weeks to get seeds in and not even 1 germinates.I will not be ordering from KC Brains ever again.

It could take a seed a week to pop. rare but possible after 5 days i get suspicious wether or not it will germinate.

Thanks for the reply.I have never used any seeds that took longer than 48 hours to pop but then again it might just be the particular strain.

Deejay I usually see maybe one or 2 seeds pop in the first 48 the rest take from 3-7 days. I think you are a lil premature in your complaint but I hope they germinate. If i knew you were growing K.C. Brains I would have also suggested Mango.

I'm just going by my experience with mostly bagseed.i have never had wait over 48 hrs to see sprouts. Also ,with bagseed ,the first ones that germinate (usually within 36-48 hrs) always seem to be the strongest healthiest plants.but that is with bagseed also.

I have a pack of mango I have yet to sprout. It seems to be the favorite from what I have read. also just so you know I'm kinda wondering if these will sprout when I choose to grow them because I have read reviews of people who say that K.C. Brains is garbage, none of them sprout, I'm never buying them etc. But also I have read the opposite and seen the pics to back it up. I think it's part the grower part a shitty batch of seeds that has made these responses. I guess any seedbank thats been around long enough is bound to have some of these issues. oh well goodluck man I hope they sprout. I know that will be some killer shit if they do.

Heh, I tried to germinate some of those seedboutique.com freebie seeds, but they appeared to all fail. So I gave up on them and went with the real non-freebie seeds. But I inadvertently forgot one of the freebie seeds and left it in the plug when I put the non-freebie seed in there too. Then they BOTH germinated, and out popped a two-headed plant. Took me a bit to figure that one out!
I cut off the non-freebie seed's head and killed it, and six months later, I still have that one plant from the freebie seeds (Durban Poison x Skunk #1). I just put it into flowering a couple of days ago. It's super healthy and huge. All told, it took like a week for that seed to germinate successfully. There's nothing wrong with the plant itself, so I guess sometimes it just takes a while. That WAS longer than I'd ever seen a seed take before though (which is why I'd given up on it originally).

Hi. I'm just wondering how you know you chopped the right plant? Seems like it would be pretty hard to tell which was which?

Actually, it wasn't that hard to distinguish between the two strains once they were a couple of days old (which is how long I puzzled over that two-headed plant before figuring out what had happened). The other plants (Blue Mystics, Indica-dominant) have their own distinctive look, so I killed the one that looked like the other Blue Mystics, and the freebie seed (Sativa-dominant Durban Poison x Skunk #1) took off growing. The stems of the Blue Mystics when they were really young were more purple and almost semi-transparent, just totally different from the freebie seed plant.
Just planted five Nirvana Skunk #1's, also freebie seeds. I don't hold out a lot of hope that many will germinate (they're probably old and not very viable, which is why they give them away), but eh, maybe some will pop up. I'm giving them a full week this time; I learned my lesson! ;)

Good luck with yours Jam.I still have mine "germinating" and still nothing.I ordered some K2 seeds yesterday from nirvana just in case for a backup.Currently i've got 22 seedlings coming along from bagseed.they are looking strong and healthy and will be flowering about the time my "good" seeds are about ready to flower.I may eat these words but as of right now ,KC Brains is definitely OFF my list of companies that i would buy from.

could just be the strain , also alot of other things need to be taken into consideration too . have the seeds crossed any international borders ? i've had friends that have gotten seeds from the same source and gotten 100% germ rate 1 time and 0 the next . i've been told that if border patrol is at all suspicious about a pkg or piece of mail they can either xray it or microwave it for a brief sec. both of which will kill your beans .

I had my White Rhinos take over 2 weeks to 'pop'. The husks were REALLY tough. And it wasn't environemnt, either; most of my seeds pop in 24-48 hours.

I have officially given up the ghost on these KC Brainless seeds.....if they haven't sprouted yet ,piss on'em. i'm moving on to bigger and better things. this is what i got from some bagseeds that a friend of mine from another state brought me. if it's dirtweed then it'll be the prettiest dirtweed around here anyways...these are 2 weeks and 1 day past breaking the soil surface....i can be happy with this....i hope

Thanx Ox ,
I've heard good things and bad things about most every seed company for whatever reason. I'm not a professional grower by any means ,and i claim to possess only a basic knowledge of cultivating this most tantalizing herb. But knowing myself, if and when i find a seed company that i like and trust ,i'll stick with them ,but for now ,my friends have been my best source. Thank you for your response....Dee...by the way ...my final attempt at "good" seeds will be an order of K2 seeds that has yet to arrive. Time will tell. Thanks again for the feedback

have used k-c brains before with terrible results, strains were very unstable.but k-2 from nirvana i have only just grew, out of ten seeds ended up with onlt three female!! but three very good females one keept as a mother and flowerd the other two, both gave me a great smoke and massive yields.i would stay away from k-c,but recently have noticed that nirvana strains are becoming more and more unstable,i can recomend paradise seeds never had a problem, high germination rates and above average amount of females, good luck with your k-2great choise

Thank you Matt for the reply and the good will. You know?? it's weird at just how things work out sometimes.A very dear friend of mine brought me some seeds and the plants whose picture i have posted ( that came from those seeds) have turned out better than i could have ever asked for. What they look like now and what they smoke like later might be two different things but i couldn't have asked for better seeds as far as growth. It'll be a little while before i can give my K2 a shot but i hope if nothing else it grows as vigorously as the ones i have now. we'll see...

sounds like those seeds are hardhusks, whenever i get a load of good seeds, i put half straight into germinate, and the other half in a bowl of warm water, some ppl use tea, soak them for bout ten minutes and put them into germinate, also one thing ive noticed, tissue paper germination is over-rated, its hard to keep the right wetness to it, all i do, is put about a half inch of soil in a little pot put in the seeds, and just put a little more soil on top, get it wet enough, and wrap cling film round it for humidity, poke holes in the film, put it on a heatmat (guess u could use a radiator on low,) and wait, then when you get them out, A. there is no need to risk damaging the roots as you leave the dirt on, and B. it makes it alot easier to plant correctly without causing stress.
you mite want to change your germination method, i used to do all my seeds with paper towels and tissue until i used soil and got much better results, (plus, as soon as the paper dries, the seed dies lol)

I agree with Abattoir. I used to use the paper towel method but they are so fragile at that stage I hated moving them. I've had great success with planting them straight into my growing medium about a half inch down and watering them. You must keep the soil moist while they are germinating obviously. Some pop overnight, some take a week to 10 days. after 10 days I usually give up and look in the medium to see if anything is going on. ocassionally some take up to 2 weeks in my experience but that is rare.

Yup. They are gnarly. But there's a heck of a vigorous plant inside just waiting to get out!

alot of good things said about nirvana k-2 on different sites maybe i need to try it but
after growing kc brains mango into a very pretty chrismass tree with big buds and good
high i feel its worth every penny for a pack of seeds even if you only get 1 female..if i
could get mango feminized it would be a dream come true and if you can find mango x WW
get it..mango sure does give BIG yields outdoors..
