I have kind of an odd problem, and it's starting to worry me a bit (well, since my mom suggested the idea of a blood clot lol).

anyway, for the past 3 days the muscle at the back of my left knee has really been hurting. It feels like I ran too hard and long and tore something, but I haven't done anything strenuous in the past week. I've tried stretching it tonnes of times, and got it massaged a couple times, and nothing helped in the least. What could be causing this? Should I see a doctor?

probably u had a cramp in your sleep. I have them sometimes, and if dont notice them when they happen, they can hurt the muscle and feel the way u do.

well your in luck im a doctor. okay well first thing is that i need to know how you hurt it to make an accurate diagnosis. but from what youve said in the post i would assume that you strained it doing something. my advice is to just stay off it as much as possible for the next few days and see what happens. i highly doubt that you have a blood clot so dont worry about it.

I find myself strongly doubting your claim that you're a doctor, Biff, with the language above where you said "to make an accurate diagnosis." Your haphazard grammar and punctuation, too, betray your claim of having been a strong enough student to make it into med school.

If you're claiming you can make an accurate diagnosis of a sore limb online, you're either a fake or the most foolish physician who ever placed hands on a keyboard. Do the real physicians, like my husband, who's standing here laughing over my shoulder, a big favor and don't claim to be what you're not. If you'd like his license number, you're welcome to it. Somehow I'm betting you don't have a state medical license number to provide to anyone. I'm only a first-year med student myself, but frankly, you do my husband's profession--and my future one--a great disservice.

Mr. Devious, I expect you may have simply had an injury or a cramp that's left you with soreness. But if it continues to worry you, go check in with a physician and have him examine the leg, then prescribe a course of treatment. You're so young that it's very unlikely you've developed a blood clot. That tends to occur much more often in older individuals, people like diabetics or heart patients who have very poor circulation, post-operative patients, and very sedentary folks with lots of other health problems.

Well I was going to tell you it sounds like cancer but that would be quackery!
You should cut it off just below where the pain is!
That will eliminate any discomfort in the future
It may be a bit harder to ride a bike though...
and if all else fails
PRAY!
Just make sure when you pray that it's the RIGHT Gawd!
Good Luck!
