well I did get my order of Northern Lights seeds today from KC Brains 25.00 shipping and everything. Not bad.Now my question is simply this, my plan A is to veg under regular flourescents for 5 weeks then flower under HPS.As of this date I do not yet have my HPS and if push comes to shove will CFLs work on this strain and if so what are the main differences in the overall plant production when compared to HPS?

I can't vouch for flowering Northern lights under CFL, but right now I'm having good luck vegging them (actually as good or better than using Metal Halide). I'll try to post pics tonight when I get home.

I also plan to use a 400w HPS for flowering, which I did for my 1st grow with good yield for a 1st-timer. Get a 400w HPS, whatever it takes.

Sorry, I just assumed 400w...you may need higher or can get away with lower depending on how many plants.

Now that I actually read your question...the answer: bushier and shorter if enough lumens are blasting them at a close enough range. Otherwise, stretchy, like HPS alone during vegetation would also probably do.

thanks for the reply.i know that this strain obviously has been grown to maturity under CFLs but i wondered mainly how much difference there would be in the yeild comparatively speaking between CFLs and HPS with this particular strain.if there is anyone out there who has tried this particular strain both ways (with both types of lights i mean) i would appreciate your insights and opinions.

Sorry, I can't be more help on CFL yield. Too many variables anyway...But here are a few pics of my last Northern Lights...the monster in the back is actually from bagseed under 400w HPS, the yield of one (beginner's) NL plant, and current veg under CFL. This time, I'm gonna flower my plants from below with the CFLs and above with HPS. Good luck.

Fasts...etc,
You might try this question with a new thread or search white rhino within this forum. I've never tried it, but it's supposedly related to white widow which is one of the strongest.

I'm not sure, but I think White Rhino might be White Widow and Northern Lights :stoned:
