I just get done smoking a bowl last night at around midnight and I notice the dog pacing back and froth from the couch to the door. After about 10 mins of this I decide I better take the little fucker out. Keep in mind he had been out about 3 times in the past hour already, the ground was wet from rain, and the bugs are horrible, so I was hoping he would just go back to sleep.

Anyway, I bring him to our fenced in area, put him down, and he just stands there like a fucking dumbass. So I get ready to pick him up and bring him back inside when we hear a truck drive by. We were already freaked out a little bit because we kept hearing what sounded like the same truck drive by several times in the past hour. Anyway, after we hear it again out side we hear what sounded like a shotgun being fired in the woods behind our house. We hauled ass inside, locked the doors, and sat on the couch freaked out as all hell. Granted they could have been hunting, but there aren't usually hunters back there, not to mention at 12am.

They were probably trying to kill you and your dog. Watch out from now on.

LOL thats hilarious, you all ran in the house xD. Sorry, we usually hear gun shots around here often and I have to say it's annoying and scary trying to figure out what the hell happened but a few times people have died behind those gun shots I heard. Btw I wasnt trying to boast about having a dangerous neighborhood (God knows I want a successful life with a mansion on the hill) but it was just funny when you said you grabbed everything and "hauled ass" in the house and locked the doors xD.

Yeah, I'm only used to gunshots when I'm hunting. Except one time when I was visiting a relative in Houston and some mexicans came around the corner and fired a shot out the window. That scared the crap out of me, but it didn't look like they were aiming at anything.

As for not going into the woods... I live in them. So I really can't avoid them at night. Granted I don't go into them, but they are always right there.

You should have grabbed the kitchen knife and ran towards the woods.

When did gunshots become a normal occurance? Shouldn't everyone be scared when they hear a gun in the middle of the night.. alone in the woods.. with a dog that may have been more scared than you? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

i am a suburban white boy too, i was at a sage francis concert in denver a few months ago, and after wards we were all in the parking lot and some car drives by and someone unloads a clip in the air, it was kinda freaky, although at first we just thought they were fireworks. i don't like denver...
