Heyas all, I got my seedlings started a few days ago (3 plants) and so far they're doing very well.

I am still preparing my grow box and gathering more supplies for the not to distant future and have a question regarding a certain fertilzer I found yesterday.

From what I have read it is good to use a high N for vegetative, but I have not been able to find too many high N fertilzers in local stores.

The highest N mix I have found so far has been Schultz Acid Plus (31-11-11)

The label says it is for acid lovng plants, but I'm not too sure if this is going to work well since I am still pretty new to growing.

My tap water here ph's at around 7.1 - 7.2

Will this mix significantly lower my ph levels ?
(Assuming that I measure and mix properly)

From all my reading so far these plants seems to like a slightly acidic mix in the 6.2 - 6.8 range so I was just curious if this stuff would work out well.
Will this take my ph level down into this range with my tap water ph'ing at just over 7 ?

My soil is nuetral so I'm mainly concerned with the lowering the tap water's ph just a tad.

Schultz doesnt list this product on thier website that I can find so I havent had much luck with finding info on this product.

One of the main reasons I would like to try this is because is also includes several micronutes in it as well. Along with the natural minerals in tap water this *seems* like it will provide an excellent food supply for my plants. I also picked up some epsom salt as well to help more with the Mg too.

Can anybody out there tell me if this stuff will be good or not ?

Any advice on this is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks much in advance

Probably would be fine. Just keep in mind the three numbers don't mean the concentrations, such as 30:10:10 is the same as 3:1:1 - they both contain the same amount of ferts, it's just a ratio. You might know this but I thought I'd say it anyways just in case. I have used the Shultz before and it worked fine, but you would be better off with one made specifically for weed and make sure it has all your micro nutrients.

You might want to add 2 table spoons of dolomite lime to each gallon of soil. This will ensure your PH stays perfect - or close to it and acts as a PH buffer. I have done this and continue too as my plants stay healthier longer as the grow progresses. YOu can find it at most nurseries - just make sure you get fine powderized and not granules. Hope this helps!

After listening to the grow report at www.thegrowreport.com im convinced the best way to go about nuts is to mix yours on your own, PH is a big deal with these plants if they arent at the right PH certain nutrients cant be obtained by the roots, thats where your deficiencys come from. Zandor explains it better in the grow report you should check it out.
