Yeah, your bloody sputum could be caused by chest irritation from smoking harsh weed, or it could be a stress injury from the hard coughing combined with that irritation. It's fairly easy to stress the little veins in your trachea or bronchial tubes with heavy coughing and rupture a little one. I'm assuming it's not heavy bleeding or you probably wouldn't be sitting and writing a post about it.

Bloody sputum could also be a number of other things, from an infection like bronchitis or pneumonia to tuberculosis to heart valve disease to cancer. That's why you need to go to the doctor with this one and let him listen to your chest and then do a chest X-ray and see what's up in there. Take note of how much blood you've coughed up and how frequently, and maybe even take in one of your tissues or handkerchiefs to show the doc the amount of blood. Let's hope it's nothing more than just too much smoking. Till you get yourself seen about, lay off the weed. And don't smoke any cigarettes if you smoke those. Let us know how it turns out, OK?

thanks for the help birdgirl it actually turned out it was because of hard coughing after smoking a joint this afternoon. So i ended up going to urgent care where they then sent me to the emergency room and ended up saying that smoking a "cig" dried out my sinus and the hard coughing combined with a cold i had trigered it. so any ways im fine and no problems :) after this whole ordeal i feel glad to be alive.

Glad to hear the good news, Sand M4n. Smoking dries you out in every way, and so that and the cold explain it perfectly. So glad it was very minor!
