THE few Japanese fishing boats still present in North Korean waters have been ordered to leave, as prospects grow of a naval blockade to suppress the nuclear ambitions of Kim Jong-il.

The US, whose 7th Fleet is based in Japan, has mobilised vessels including the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk and its strike group for "exercises" in the region. Guided missile carriers and destroyers were also being deployed, the US Navy said.

The long-planned naval exercises involving the US fleet and ships from Japan's Self Defence Force are now taking place in an atmosphere of high tension.

United Nations sanctions authorise the boarding of North Korean vessels to search for contraband, but the North Korean leader has said he will treat any boarding as an act of war.

As serious as this situation is, does anybody other than me think it's a bit comical too?

Kim: "Give me what I want our I'll develop a nuclear weapon"
Rest of the World: "Screw you"
Kim: "Give me what I want or I'll test this long range missle, proving that I can hurt you in the U.S."
Missle falls into Sea Of Japan shortly after lift off
Rest of the World: "Hahahahahah...."
Kim: "Give me what I want or I'll test my nuclear bomb"
Rest of the world: "Screw You"
bomb goes off, although it appears to be pretty shoddy
Rest of the World(even China): "You've been a naughty little boy, now you get a time out"
Kim: "That's an act of war"
Rest of the world: "hahahaha..."

Seriously, this guy acts like a three year old. Unfortunately, anyone with a three year old knows they are prone to tantrums that you don't really want to see. The little fuck needs to watch out or he's gonna get a serious spanking.

The North Korean Navy is the most secretive navy in the world. Determining
the state of their fleet is exceptionally difficult. This list is built
using the best publicly available information, although this information
is sketchy, at best. Names, numbers, and bases are not known, and
quantities in service are uncertain. This list includes all vessels for
which any degree of detailed information is known. In addition to these
vessels, there are many inshore patrol boats and various auxiliaries of
unknown types.

Condition and servicability of all units is uncertain, and all are of
very primitive technology.

All designations & classifications are unofficial; they may or may not
correspond to "official" designations.
