Money is really tight with my husbands job taking away his over time and me not being able to find a job that pays more 6 bucks an hour its gettin tight. Well we have loaned out money to people in need and its like hell gettin it back. My parents owe us $550, my sister owes us $35, my husbands friend owes us $180, and Allstate owes us $650 cause one of there drivers backed into me. So lets add this up thats $1415.
I swear were gettin ready to go through a rough patch and its like no one who owes us cares. they just keep going out and spending money and when I ask them about paying us back they are broke. WTF? I dont know I feel like no one respects me and they are just walking right over me like Im some kind of door mat. Why cant I be a bitch to them and tell them I need my fuckin money more than my mom needs to go out to the bars and to Victorias Secret and Walmart??
Oh and while im venting my dad has turned into a totally differnt person. He is dating this new chick and is buying pot for her kids and shit. What about me damn it. He knows I smoke and he owes me money. Give me the weed instead of her kids or give me the money he is spending on it and give it to me. Grrrr I dont know ????

Oh this post is so loaded princess.
First and best advice I can give you is to NEVER EVER EVER lend to family. Chances of getting it back are slim to none. If you do lend, always make sure you write up a note, how much they mooched and when you can expect to get it back. You sign it UNDER where you have them siggn.
No pay you back? Take them to small claims court. You'll get paid back then.
The friend? Tell him you'll take $20.00 a week until the dedt is paid off and that starts on Friday. Or, The loan is up and now due in full. You'll take that $180.00 at the end of the week. Hell princess, it's your money and these freeloading moochers have got to pay up.
LOAN NO MORE. LOAN NO MORE. LOAN NO MORE.
As for your dad, take him aside and say daddy....wth? Fair is fair and I'm your daughter. Treat me as such They get weed, I want weed too.

take out a loan and use the money to go to collage so you can get a better job. In the meantime go ahead and take the 6$ an hour job and keep on preshuring the people to give you the money back, especialy allstate, becuase the excuse that they can't afford to isn't going to work for an insurance company. If all else fails, sue all state!

I too damn nice for my own good. My family is very disfunctional. Im suprised that I turned out to be a productive citizen. I remeber when I was in second grade it was my birthday and as usual my parents didnt get me anything. But I was gettin money is my birthday cards and my mom came up to me and said if I didnt give them my money we wouldnt have any dinner that night. On top of them owing money my credit is shot thanks to my parents puttin shit in my name when I was a kid and not paying it. This situation is so fucked up. I wish I wasnt so nice sometimes and could be a rude ass bitch like my sisters. What really kills me about my dad though is he use to be so Anti-drug and bust my chops about smoking and now he is buying weed for these kids.

Ahhh shit man, lending family money is always a no no in my book. I, like you feel like punk asking for it back. But as im out of work at the mo, the shoes on the other foot and i owe my family money. But as soon as I get my first pay cheque im paying that shit off. I cant stand owing people money, makes me feel like a loser and the fact that people have been kind enough to lend me money they really dont have, I should have the respect to pay them back as soon as im in a positon to. A lil pressie to goes along way, for being so kind and patient with me! Hope you get things worked out Dro, come down on them like ton of bricks, tell them your up shit creek without a paddle and need the money to buy a paddle!
Hope things work out for you!
Peace

I lent a friend some money once. Not a ton, a few hundred here, a few hundred there, maybe $1500 total over time (he was having a rough stretch). It took him years to pay me back, but eventually he did. After paying me back, I was happy and paid for a vacation for both of us to NYC, was pretty expensive. I didn't ask or expect him to pay me back for that; it was my treat. But last year, he gave me something that I turned into around nine grand, which he totally didn't have to do. That made me VERY happy, so now, anytime he wants pot and I have it (which is always), he gets free pot, which makes him very happy. What a long, strange dept-repayment karma trip it's been with him.
Lending money to family though - never done that, nor asked to borrow any. I'm sure I could if I had to, but...I'd rather just not get into that at all. I don't really like lending money to friends either, but at least now I know that CAN work out okay, although it might take a while before it does.

Ive been in the same boat. Lent over the course of a year $2000 to a close friend to help him with court costs etc... never seen a dime back.
Loaned $200 to a friend so he could stake himself with a poker tournament, i know for a fact he placed and took home like 6k, im STILL trying to get my money back.
well im sorry for all that.
think i could bottow a few bucks for breakfast though?
i swear i wont give it back.

Tell all the persons owing you money that they have exactly 2 weeks to render payment or you will take them to small claims court.(You can always try 1 of the on-air judges like Judge Judy, if you think you may lose.Cause on those shows, both the defendant AND the plaintiff get paid like 2grand apiece for letting them tape it.The judgement is taken from that persons fee for appearing. If they owe you 2 grand or more and you win,you could walk away with 4 grand and they walk with zero.
Either way,you let each deadbeat know that you will NEVER lend them a cent again and for them not to even ask.Personally I would totally disown them,I've done it on more than 1 occassion when someone stiffs me on a loan.Block their calls, refuse to answer the door if they come over, even call the cops on them if they keep pounding on the door instead of taking the hint and leaving.

.
This is how I look at lending money now.I don't look at it as a loan but rather as an investment in that person.Maybe it will pay off big in the long run or maybe the stock will end up in the toilet.
Either way,I have no expectation of getting my money back.If I profit from the transaction later like getting free weed or car repairs because I invested in them years ago, I'm ahead of the game.Kind of like throwing money away on lottery tickets. You really dont expect to get anything back for that worthless ticket, but hope you might get lucky and win the jackpot.

You have the best stories man. I seriously look forward to reading your posts when I see that green avatar show up on my screen...props to leading a cool life :D
as fro dro_princess...i know it sounds like it doesnt apply to the situation, but as shitty as you may feel now, just appreciate the air you're breathing and the food you're eating. you're living in one of the richest part of the world, and the way it feels like money is tight to you, is the way half the world would feel like millionaires if they were in your situation :)

I'm so sorry sweetie, that really sucks.
I guess your parents screwed up so badly that unless they used your name and info, you guys wouldn't have had light and stuff. Taking your birthday money is just horrible and mean. No matter what, you don't tell a child that without their birthday gift money, there'll be no food. That is plain wrong.
I can just imagine the hell you've been put through. I know you're not the first child that has been done to and somewhere out there is a way to remedy your credit situation.
Don't ever feel bad about not being a rude ass bitch. Them rude ass bitches are nasty and usually non productive members of society.
I dunno what to say about your dad. You and him need to have a long PRIVATE talk about stuff.
I wish you only the best princess.:upsidedow :sadcrying

Buddy, you are a dear. It's a world of difference when a parent steals birthday money and when a fella is down for a spell. You seem like the kind of guy who if you only had $5.00 to pay at the moment, you'd pay up that 5.
It's not a bad thing to have to borrow a bit, I have before myself. It's the dignity of paying back and holding your head up. :)

Believe me if I had the money to pay back I would and put my needs second! Another reason why I havent smoked for a while. If I can afford to buy mj I can afford to pay my debts back right!?! Makes me mad when peeps owe you money and they say they havent got it right now, but theyre smoking cigs, drinkin alcohol and smoking mj. If you can afford to do those things you can afford to pay off your debts! It aint about owing money!
Peace
