Ok, so basically, ive never tried cannabis before (im suppose to on friday), and i want to know what it feels like, like inside your mind, or body or whatever.
ive researched it alot, but i just wanted some personal stories/accounts, well you know what i mean.
ive done various opiates (oxycodone, hydrocodone, codiene, propoxyphene) and some other stuff (carisprodol and dextromethorphan). oh ive had alcohol too.
Could anyone compare the feeling to any of the drugs i listed above?
Thank you.

Wuh??? None of that was cough syrup, unless he did cough syrup to get to the dxm.
Nothing can really prepare you for being high. Alcohol is somewhat similar, but being high is a much less dirty sick feeling.
I've tried analyzing the feeling before, and mostly I just end up with the idea that marijuana makes you much more immersed in the moment. All of your anxieties just melt away and you're left really content with life. When you peak, things can become pretty crazy, I've had moments where I was laughing so hard and so long that when I peaked, my eyes closed and I existed in this strange but wonderful darkened land of sound. I couldn't tell who was laughing, me or my buddy, but it echoed in my head.
For me, my short term memory is FUCKED when I get high. This can be both a bad thing and a wonderful thing. It's also sort of an important part of being stoned. Your concentration is either dulled, or you focus on one thing extremely well.
You might get the munchies, not everyone does, but if you do don't pass up the chance to have one of the best meals of your life. Make sure to have some candy on-hand, maybe some soda (or water, you'll need something for cotton mouth), and it's always nice not to have to go out to get munchies. Personally, I like to prepare all of my food before hand, becuase I don't like spending thirty minutes (or was it thirty minutes? You can never tell) in the kitchen repeatedly forgetting what I was looking for.
The most important part of any session is music. Expirement a little while your high to find the best music, becuase you'll be extremely sensitive to it, and some music just has different components that go better with the new ears you've been lended. Don't know what you're into, but some good ideas would be Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Boards Of Canada. Music sounds so wonderful high. You're so "in-tune" with the vibes of the music high, that I personally have a need to re-listen to every album I own just to feel like I've listened to them properly. The base sort of increases and flows a lot better...
You can see the humor behind things much easier. For example: I found myself cracking up at two in the morning to infomercials. About lawnmowers.
Different mental processes are accentuated when high. If you do end up thinking, notice that if you try, you can easily see both sides of something. It works almost the same way a psychedelic does, allowing you to break into other forms of consciousness. Most of the time by accident, but if you try, you'll most likely find yourself doing it on purpose.
I can tell you all this, but you're still not going to be prepared for it. It's best to just let it wash over you. Try not to get too analytical your first few times, just relax and feel the bliss. You'll never get those first 2 or three highs back. You might not even get high at all your first time, but don't focus on this, just hope for the best and see what happens.
Don't rush into it as well. You might regret it later. Make sure wherever you're doing it, you feel safe and comfortable, and if you need to be around other people, make sure you have some deodorant and some visine.
It sucks to think that you're invincible and then get high and realize that you're gonna be fucked if you need to talk to someone important.
And thats about it. Some of the guidelines change once you become comfortable with it, but you'll quickly realize how correct most of this is.

Memory Burner, well most of those were opiates, which have cough reducing properties, but there not cough syrup, dxm is used in cough syrup.
codiene used to be used as a analgesic, but it was replaced by dxm.
and carisprodal is a muscle relaxant, aka soma.
Everyone says the cannabis high is different then the opiate high, but like how is it different?
(oh and thanks inferius, that was exactly the kind of post i was looking for.)

yeah quit asking us what it's like, it's like inhaling hundreds of naked midget chicks covered in icecream and they massage your insides and tickle your brain with pixie sticks. Just try it if you want to know.

make sure you inhale. make SURE you hold your breath as long as you possibly can. don't waste the bud and tell others, "i didn't get high my first time..."
and deffinately don't call 911 and tell them your dying (read thread "there should be accademy awards for close calls")

Actually I think that pretty much hits the nail right on the head...

i like this thread on the notion that it proves cannabis is not a gateway drug
if we tell you how it is it will kinda ruin the experience, whether it be over or underrated
weed just chills you out, calms you down, everything becomes bliss, mild visual & audio hallucinations depending on how mucn you smoke, and you just kinda drift off into your head for a while
its quite nice actually

Also, your first time, you might not get high at all, and then you'll wonder what all the hubbub was about. I didn't get high the first time. It was probably the fourth or fifth time before I understood what being high was. So, if you don't get high the first time or three or five, it doesn't mean you did anything wrong, and don't sweat it; that's just the way it is for some people.

It's hard to explain, everyone doesnt feel the same. Just try it and the only thing I can tell you is to be prepared and dont underestimate weed just because people classify it as a soft drug. It can be pretty hard core if you are new and not expecting the results of it.

i dont know, i signed up for here since im trying cannabis tommorow.
is that alright to be here? even if i haven't smoked yet?

yeah i bet that'd be alright.
i smoked for the first time about a month ago--but it doesn't really count. it was only a quick hit see what the process was. don't ask.
the second time was last sunday, and it was pretty awesome.
last time was this past tuesday, and it wasn't a happy moment, if that says anything. pretty much i was one of those people who almost called 911. thank god i didn't.
so yeah im pretty much new to this as well.
pretty much that only advice i can give, according to my limited experience, is just don't freak out. i agree, and imagine it's the best the first few times when you don't know what to expect. but yeah, just be somewhat prepared for something.
that advice is late anyway, seeing that it's saturday.
oh yeah. i used to be a dxm user as well. i was close to being a dxm fanatic, loved the stuff. i automatically went into thinking weed was going to be weaker in a way. and its not really. it's nothing compared to dxm. in fact, the highest ive been was the last time i tried weed.

Youll love it. Best times I've ever had.
And for gods sake remember cannabis will not and cannot kill you.
It has never killed a single human, animal, or anything in its entire history which is longer than human history.
If you get a panic attack, relax. If you think your hearts beating faster than usual dont worry.
You wont have a heart attack, your heart wont explode.
Always relax.
