Nute burn or MG deficiency?

First I would like to thank all the members who do so much work for these boards. I have spent the last month just browsing through journals and FAQs and I have learned a lot.

However, there are some problems with these plants that I am not sure how to diagnose. I think they have nute burn or a mg deficiency or something. The plants are wilting, have leaves curling downward, rust colored spots along the leaves, and generally look sickly.

There are 3 plants in rock wool burried in potting soil. The plants stretched severely because for the first 3 weeks they were grown with light from one florescent tube. Light is now from a 600 HPS. They are 5 weeks old. I flushed them with about 2 gallons of water over about 2 days ago.

last 2 photos 4&5 show a magnesium def. light green and darker @ the viens
photo 5 shows the leaf margins curled upwards........ classic Mag def. signs

the curling downwards maybe from all the watering? fix the Mg first and we shall see

1 tabelspoon epsom salts to a gal of water, however they have had quite a bit of water lately so foliar spray the mixture on both top and bottom sides of leaves, if you see any difference within 48 go ahead and give them a drink with the remainder of the mix

You can buy epsom salts at any grocery store or pharmacy. At a grocery store look in the medication area.

I would repot them in seperate containers. If you don't then the roots are going to tangle up together, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were getting root bound right about now.

well done that man :thumbsup: i was looking at the pics an see burnt leaves and tought nut burn straight away....but hes right ...lol....i didn`t look hard enough at the leaf veins.......they are dark green and that is a sign of mag defficency,epson salts sorted....welll spotted.

Ps i doubt the damaged leaves will green up ever again ,but the new foilage should be a good colour and burn free 2-7 days later.

Remember only feed nutrients once a week(give it 1/4 dose after flushing and increase by 1/4 each week)...its worth checking if your strain needs a lot of nutrients as some come be super sensitive and require little....or some can handle a good dose of nutrients...check it out....get salt though;) GL

Sorry.....i forgot to say transplant them aswell,if you have the foilage problem with 1 plant at the moment, it wont be long before they all suffer as they are sharing the same soil/food/water etc being toghther.
If you can put the into large individal pots treat them with epsom salts you can then concenstrate on each plants need....you may find when you repot them that the roots maybe realy tight bunch up in old pot.....Give the roots a nice large pot to grow into...this will also realy help your problem........also do not feed nutrients when you first re-pot them just water and salts
