Use the search feature. There was a post on the spirituality board about this topic along with some good links. I was searching for it and than thought why... If I can do it so can you. ;)

If I remember correctly the thread was started about 2 weeks ago, but not sure.

from what i've heard, you can control ever aspect of the dream, but the two hardest things are realizing your dreaming, and after that stay asleep to keep dreaming. i know for a fact atleast you can control some of your dream, i'm just not sure if you can control every single aspect or not.

Well I have done some reading on this and will share a few things I've learned.

1. It takes a lot of practice to accomplish (6 months - a few years)

2. It has been said to be an outer body experience

3. Most people wake up when you begin to shake.
There is supposed to be a shaking sensation when it begins that scares many people.

4. Once you become good at it, you will be able to travel anywhere you like in this new plain of reality.

I plan on trying myself, I'm just not disiplined enough to start keeping a dream journal and all that.

You guys should check out the movie Waking Life.

in a broad scope, Waking Life is about a young man in a persistent dreamlike state. The film follows its protagonist as he initially observes and later participates in philosophical discussions that weave together issues like appearance and reality, free will, our relationships with others, and the meaning of life. Along the way the film touches on other topics including existentialism, posthumanism, and the film theory of André Bazin. The young man eventually comes to the realization that he is dreaming and that he is unable to wake up. By the end of the film, he fears that he might be dead.

plus the whole movie is in rotoscope. They basically filmed the movie with regular video cameras then a team of artists went back over it and animated it. It's pretty bad ass, probably one of my all time favorite movies.

I have lucid dreams a couple times a month. I never try to have them it just happens. I usually am somewhere then realize its a dream and just do random things...mostly jumping really high, flying, and banging hot women until my dick blows up.

I've read if you spin around while lucid dreaming and think of somewhere you want to go and something you want to do it will happen. I always forget to do that though because I get excited.

During the day you are supposed to look at a digital watch like every hour and after awhile you'll just start automatically doing it, then you'll do it in your dreams and when you look at digital clocks in dreams they are all fucked up so you'll know you are in a dream...something like that.

How much you control in the dream will vary from dream to dream. Dreams are your brain's fucked up way of running a little reality simulator at night, and lucid dreaming is the art of realizing you're in a simulation and hijacking the program.

In any dream, lucid or not, basically what happens is whatever your brain expects to happen. Sure, there are some random things that you don't expect but for the most part if you expect something is about to happen it will. Lucid dreaming, therefore, means you have to overcome your expectations and learn to consciously control them.

This is difficult, because lucid dreams are so stunningly like reality in every detail that sometimes you doubt whether you're really dreaming. If you're on the roof of a large building, and everything looks and feels exactly as if you were on top of a large building, and you decide you want to fly, you have to overcome the very strong expectation your brain has that you will plummet to the ground. You have to first be certain that you are dreaming, and then be certain that your arms really can be used to counteract the force of gravity. We're not used to making ourselves believe things we know to be false, but this is what you have to do if you want control over your dreams. If you do it well, you can be a god in your own little customized universe; if you don't, you will be just a curious spectator who knows he is dreaming but can't do anything about it. Just remember, in lucid dreams, there is no spoon.

I have had many o lucids, they are the best things ever. I have never done anything better than that. If i could have 20 lucids a year or weed i would have a lucid. I love weed but lucids are the best things ever. Go to dreamviews. When you smoke weed, you get soo fucking high in your dreams. Im too stoned to explain lucids

Lucid dreaming is just great, i do it all the time. What you said about it takes alot of practice is true for alot of people, but i was able to do it the first time i tried. At first it was hard to do much, tried flying and ended up flopping around sliding on the ground, which was fun in itself. And yes you can do anything, every wonder what it would be like to see in 360 degrees vision? well with enough practice you can. Anything you can think of, you can do, it really does show just how powerful your mind is. There are tons of sites about it, im lazy and not going to look for you, hint though: www.google.com
One other thing, i find the best way to stay in a dream when you feel yourself coming out is to spin in a circle really fast (in the dream of course). This almost always works for me.

i dream lucid, i never really tryed. i have alot of problems with sleep, to the point where i lose jobs and such. its affected my life very much. when sleeping either two things happen 1. i dream lucid and control most, but not every aspect of my dream. or 2. i wake up missing long blocks of time and dont remember sleeping or dreaming at all. dreaming lucid is the only type of dream i have exp. so im not sure what to compare it to. mind you this only happens about 2-3 times a year. its not a practice for me, i am much more worried about trying to fix the problems with sleep i have to begin with.
