I dunno man, but it's coming up.
So far I'm sooo excited. Cause it's college for me, and about 10 of my best friends already go to the one I'm going to. So next year is going to fucking rock. :D

well im 18 in a few weeks and to be honest - to me its not that much of a big change, you think it is because it sounds like a big thing but its not, as long as you still live with your parents everything stays the same, they do the washing food pay the bills etc lol
now when you move out the house and into your own place thats when it gets tough
You dont have to worry about anything just chill out and hire some mexican slaves around the house or somethin :stoned:

Being 18 wasn't as weird as being 21 and realizing how much you have changed. You are still just a teenager when you are 18...I was still in High School. I think I partied a lot more than, or more out of control rather. Sucked at handling my alcohol and got all crazy and drunk all the time off of hard alcohol. I would have to find places besides home to smoke at...had to find places to drink...sometimes we would just drink downtown and be wreckless in the streets.
It's weird because 18 doesn't seem that long ago then I see all these 18 year olds fresh out of High School that live in my building and they are definitly younger.
I got like all my piercings and tattoos when I was 18. That was cool.
18 isn't that weird of an age. 20 I think was the weirdest age really...

I wish I could go ahead and be old. I've always wanted to be old and have always enjoyed the company of old people more than kids my age. One of the greatist relationships I've ever had was with my grandfather on my dad's side. I would listen to him tell stories literally for hours on end and I never got bored. I think I just hate people like me. I have to seek out people vastly different from me because when I'm around them I'm less like myself. I figure soon, I will be able to divorce myself from myself and recreate myself into a completely different human bien, the man I've always wanted to be.

What're you going to do when you finish high school, Orangeman? Go to college, I hope? You're a smart young man with lots of potential. I ask because I think often when you have a plan for the future and know where you're headed next, the oncoming milestone birthdays seem less significant.
When I was your age, I remember thinking turning 21 would be strange. It seemed like the be-all, end-all grownup birthday, after which all I had to look forward to was the bleak adult years of bills and responsibilities. But in reality no one turns around one day and is suddenly grown up just because of a birthday. It's a gradual process. I don't think I really achieved true grownup status till I was 26. Some days I still wonder whether I'm there or not. . .

Yeah, getting older just means more bills. Rent, H2O, electricity, gas bill, car note (though my mom still pay's mine), and debt. You also now get to be charged as an adult ;) :rasta: But it's not all bad in a few more years you will be able to legally buy beer and hit the casino's.
I still need financial help from my parents every few months because something is about to get cut off and I'm in my early 20's. As long as you have parents that are willing to help you out when you need it you will be fine. In all honesty I'm just not good at budgeting money. So most of it is my own fault.

Thanks :D, and yes I did plan on going on college. My grades arent too great right now but I'm just hoping the colleges will notice my potential (and even more, my money) and let me in and get a higher education (for a good paying job of course) lol.
no need to worry about that if you have money you are in and unless you are trying to get into a really really good school a c average will do the trick although once you start college youll want to keep the grades up trust me

I went to community college for 2 years before I went to university. I liked that, you don't have to have good grades in high school and you don't have to take the SAT...and you save money..and you can still end up in university.

Shit man, I turn 17 in like 5 months... Atleast its not 18. I'm like...startin' to worry a lil about this "growin' up" thing. I just can't imagine myself in a job. I'mma try and not worry too much untill next year. Then I'll look at colleges and decide how I'm going to do things. I don't know though, next year I'll probably be just as clueless as to what I'll do.

Lol yeah, I understand you to the fullest but I just realized that I thought of being in high school as much as I'm thinking about being grown. So now come to think of it, it might not be as bad as I think it is. Sure it might be financially but that should be about it :p.

Orange, my best advice to you is to enjoy high school to the fullest extent that you can. Once its over, its over, and you can't go back. I'm guessing your a sophomore this year? This is when shit starts to get fun, and then junior and senior year are the best. As far as your grades go, I really wouldn't worry TOO much about it, but if you can improve, do so. The main things colleges look at are last term junior year and first term senior year grades. Also extracurricular activities and all that. You can also do an 'on-the-spot' interview for some colleges, in which they evaluate you in person and not just on your application. Turning 18 is good, because you will start to be treated like an adult, which is never a bad thing. I'll let ya know how it is to be 21 next summer lol. Hang in there.

Last term of junior year? Good, I'm doing fine now, but that will give me time to make sure I'm doing all I can do. I'm a junior this year, starting the year off not to bad, I think I have 1 C, and thats the lowest. God I hate math. I'm a lil worried about my grades cause I can't consistently keep them up. I had an A the first half the year of geometry, the second it started dropping, but I still passed easy. My grades tend to vary a lot over time. I think I just get bored after awhile and that high grade seems like it would last longer.
And yeah, I SOOO miss being young and not having many cares in the world. Or any at all when I was real young. Only worry ever was school, but in highschool its a much bigger worry. Damn, I wanna go chill on my rope swing, ride my bike over the jump at the end of the street, or go make fires in the woods with my neighbors. Ah, I miss being a pyro.

No man, if you have a job BEFORE you move out and on your own, then living without your parents isnt shit. I had jobs 2 years before I moved out of my parents house, and seriously, living on your own is AWSOME. Atleast for me it is. Hell if you want, get your friends to be your roomies. Me and 3 other friends live in a house, we all pitch on rent, electricity, internet, TV and all that other good shit.

Ive always been like that, i always got on better with older people than people my age, all my friends in school were about 2 or 3 years older, but i got alot of mates in their 40's and 50's that smoke up.

I turned 18 in Basic Training, joined the Army at 17. I had no parents, the court was my legal guardian, so someone I never met had to sign a form allowing me to join the military that young. It was a pretty bizarre birthday. I was incredibly skinny when I joined, like 100 pounds wet, at 5'10". A drill sergeant saw how skinny I was and took all the cake away from the chubby recruits and gave it all to me. Lol, I pigged out on chocolate cake, with all the chubs glaring at me in anger. ;)

jesus man, im 17 comin up 18 but im from england, which means i left skool at 16, theres nothing to it really, leaving skool just means youll have alot of time on your hands, if you get a job youll soon forget about skool, life without a job sucks though i admit, as for leaving your parents, i dont see the big deal, i hate my parents, lol obviously i do love them but really i cant wait to leave them and not have to bother listening to them, its all about freedom..... lol good luck tho, if you think you need it....

Ha ha! This is the first time I think I've ever heard anyone say they don't want to be 18.
I couldn't wait until I was 18. I could go to the strip clubs, bars, buy smokes (when I smoked ciggs.) I could get into any concert because a lot of them aren't all ages show, but, the only bad thing is when you get into trouble with the law, you go to the big boy jail, not a pre-school juvi. jail. Luckily for me though, I was never a criminal, or not dumb enough to get caught, so I've never been and I plan not to be.
So being 18 has its pros and cons. If you're a deliquent teenager who gets into trouble and already has a record, I know where you'll be when you're of age.
