Hey all, I've been trying to find a source for 'No-Damp' brand of Oxine benzoate fungicide and tried to order it throught Veseys garden supply (Canada) but when I got to checkout, the message popped up that it is unavailable in the US.... what?!!!!

So my question is, does anyone know a site that WILL ship it to the US, like a Canadian hydro supplier that isn't weird about shipping restrictions... I looked up the MSDS and found that it is NOT listed as a carcinogen, only as a minor irritant and sensitizer! So what gives?

Perhaps you should try and do a google search .... maybe you could find another supplier?

Yeah, I 'googled' the crap out of both the product and the active ingredient, even called the manufacturer looking for authorized US retailers, got ceoonected with the voicemail of their exports department....

figured you guys might know!!!

Hey Buster, thanks... tried ebay link, tried googling 'global hydro'...
Here's a supplier:

I kind of avoid ebay. Just paranoia I suppose.

I've read people mentioning that this stuff is the shizzle if you have any fungus issues during cloning. Looked up Oxine benzoate, found that even low conc and short contact times give between 99.9 and 100% kills on virtually ALL fungus, spores, bacteria, and viruses while not being particularly hazardous to humans.

Well, I ordered some it from the eBay site. I think I had a damping-off problem with my last seedlings and my chamomile tea remedy didn't help at all.

We'll see if I get it...is it on a list of restricted items for some reason?

I'm guessing it doesn't know the difference between good and bad bacteria? Or maybe it does... Will it mess up the "good stuff" in my soil? I think I even add bacteria with some of the nutes I give.

That's what I've been trying to figure out. I ended up ordering from a Canadian grow supplier.

Yes, it is a broad-spectrum fungicide/bactericide/anti-viral agent.
It WILL kill your beneficials.
If you use it for the seedling stage, I'd stop as soon as they have a couple sets of adult leaves and are ready to be put into the next pot.
That's why I'm only going to be using it for cloning- I use beneficials too.
