Facial Hair. ... the myth?

hey everyone, sorry to make a confusing title, but im just throwin this out there for the curiousity.

anyway, i want facial hair. plain and simple. but im a little worried that i might not have the skills.

im 19. and have been able to maintain satisfactory sideburns since i was probably 18. anyway, i have hair growing around my face, IE chin, mustache area, jaw/cheeks ect... but its not hair that you can see from any further than 3 feet away from me. and its not very consistant. like i said, ive been able to have fine sideburns for the past year.

what im wondering is... has anyone developed after the age of 19? or am i one of the unfortunate ones who wont be able to grow anything.

Haha, facial hair isn't that great. I can grow a gottee but that is it, the rest of my beard is very patchy and looks like shit. Plus when I had the gottee I had 3-4 people say I look like a pedophile, so I ended up shaving it.

But no unless you just recently started puberty you are probably stuck with the facial hair you have.

Facial hair is a direct trait from your genes. My dad can only grow a mustache and a shitty one at that. As for myself, I can try to grow a mustache, but it looks like pubic hair so I don't even bother. I have no facial hair even though I wish I did at times.

im 19 also and have the average hair growin in my face. I keep my sideburnes and a litlle somethin under my lip and im very happy with em lol. I had a friend that had a beard at 18 in high school... you should see hes back... it looks rather black from all that hair comming out hahahha we called him bear lol coz everytime we went to the beach, he looked more like a bear than a man... I guess this guy has a whole bunch of genes hahahhaha

i cant grow facial hair except really shitty looking mustache hair and hair under my chin. which is really weird because my dad can grow a full beard pretty easily though he never does but he has no leg hair and i have regular male leg hair. very very odd, id like facial hair but between that and looking like i shave my legs ill take the leg hair

While there are some men who are never able to grow thick facial hair (IE like me) other men sometimes have to wait till their 30s till they develop full facial hair... Just depends on the guy (or your genes).


I wouldnt sweat it though... The same hormone that helps stimulate facial and body hair is also the same hormone that can cause hairloss on your scalp (IE baldness)... Ever notice how many men who are very hair end up going bald? Be happy bud and enjoy :)

Theres a kid in my class who had a full beard and hes 15! but he shaved. its funny, the only 2 with facial hair are ages 15 and 19.

I also knew a kid who had a goatee in 7th grade, but he looked like an old man by the time he was 16.

My point is (other than making you feel bad cause younger people have more facial hair) that people mature at different rates. Don't worry about it too much, your a late bloomer, but better late than never. I know 17 year olds just getting peach fuzz...

Ive been hairy for ages. Im hairier than anyone I know, its so bad it even puts some girls off! I love the hair on my arms though, its so smooth and sleek. Adorable.
My leg hair isnt too bad. I dont mean that it isnt that hairy, I mean that I dont mind it that much.
I HATE my belly hair. Its like pubic hair, its that bad. And my butt... dont even go there. My girls just lucky I shave down below!

Yeah, I was in my 30s before I could really grow a decent beard or much of a moustache. My brother, on the other hand, could grow either or both in his late teens. But I don't wish I had his genes, because he was going bald at 25, and I'm 42 now and still have a full head of hair. In fact, ALL of my male friends and acquaintances except one are going bald now, even those 10 years younger than me. They all hate me for that. ;)

i cant grow more than a dirtlip, so i dont bother. However i have a friend who had a full of beird since he was about 13.

At school we used to call him the werewolf. Didnt help that he never seemed to be out with us on the ful moon...

I wish i was in your shoes. I've been shaving since about 12, and i have a full beard. I hate it. I have to shave in the morning, and at night when i get home. I can have a full beard in 2 days. It gets to be a chore, and its a boring one, that takes up too much of my smoking time.

Theres a kid younger than me, about 13 and has a full moustache and chin hair or a goatee or w/e. I was like "whoa" lol. All I have is a few whiskers and a faint moustache, I'm in want too :p. Im 19, and I can grow a full beard and mustache. I keep mine trimmed into a nice goatee and mustache. My goatee is about 2 1/2 inches long right now, and I plan on keeping it growing, because I look like a total dumbass without it o.O
Ive been able to grow facial hair since 14 :D Usually people grow into their 20's usually between 21 and 23 I think.

Yeah, and if you shave more often, it'll grow back a lil thicker and faster. I think its like a defense mechanism maybe... I was gonna shave like everyday to try and get a lil more hair faster, but then I was like "fuck that...too much work" so I just shave like 2-3 times a week. I don't have a lot of hair, but its comin' in more, and I don't wanna get a dirtlip.

Yes Chronic, sir that dug his grandmother up and gave his priciniple a heart attack, I am sure that is not my nutsack. It's my chin :). My nutsack too fuckin hairy and I have to shave, tmi I know. Who cares you dont have to believe me, I'm high lol. I sorta ripped that from Smokey off of Friday xD.

i love my facial hair, dunno why some of you would trade places with the ones wtih no facial hair..... i wanted to stop looking 12, well at age 12, i shaved everday til i was 16 about to keep it growing in... i worked hard for my beard and i love it.... only time i'll shave is when you could literally braid my beard, and my mustache keeps goign in my mouth. and then i don't even shave, i use a 1 guard on clippers to trim it. how many women here actaully their man to be clean shaven? just curious.

lol i wish my only problem wtih being too hairy down there was my nutsack... just fyi, do not try to use nair down there, and don't let your wife cut your ass hair with hairclippers......
