What makes you guys the happiest?
Like, if you're feeling down, depressed, upset or whatever, what always cheers you up?
For me it's playing or listening to music.. But what is it for you guys?

Yeah, that's true...
Like, alot of people only like one kind of music.. There's nothing wrong with that, but it annoys me when they refuse to like something just because it's not what they usually listen to.. If somebody is that stubborn concerning music, then they're obviously stubborn in other aspects of their life, too..
Similarly, if somebody is open minded when it comes to their choice of music, they'll probably be pretty open minded towards other things, too...
I like people that are open minded about everything - I can't stand stubborness (I can be stubborn occasionally myself, though.. hypocritical, too lol) so the people I hang around with listen to all sorts of music.. That's probably because alot of them are musicians in some form (or wannabe's lol)..
Anyway, what was the question?
Oh, there wasn't one.. I keep going off on a tandem today :p
umm... Carry on.. Nothing to see here...

For a smoker, you sure are long-winded there ghost :D
To answer your question:
Whenever I feel like that, I just remind myself that no matter what happens in my life, the sun will always rise the next day. Feeling bad won't change anything, and life will go on regardless, so I figure I may as well make the most of it. Confidence and determination make important positive changes, depression and sadness do not.
Now I understand that a lot of people can't just convince themselves to feel better, but it has always worked for me. I'll always love myself, so that ability comes naturally.

That's a really good outlook to have on life.. it's a shame more people don't think like that
I mean, whenever someone I know is feeling down or depressed, I always tell them what you just said (not in the same words, obviously), and most of the time they say "yeah, you're right" but they still feel down..
It's wierd how people find it hard to think like that, because it makes the most sense..
Nice post, cleve :)

I love going off on a tandem! But if there's no-one else around to ride with, I just ride my own bike and save the tandeming for some other time. :)
Man, the weather's been fine lately. Windy, but fine overall. Yesterday, after catching a fine buzz on two puffs of very kind, I cleaned the drivetrain on one of my bikes and put some fresh lube on the chain. Then I fixed the computer on another bike, and mounted a bracket that makes it easier to put lights on it. Put a new fender on it too -- gotta get ready for wintah in Bawston, pallie!
Then I went for a 25 mile spin, nothing big, though there were a few hills. Stopped in at the local for a couple brewskis.
Wish every day could be like that.
umm... Carry on.. Nothing to see here...

So true, MJM
Like, this saturday just gone, I woke up with the intention of taxing my car, and taking the kids out for a visit to a car museum. But, when I checked my bank account on the phone, I found that I was in serious financial difficulty. Needless to say, I was in a foul mood.
I told the kids straight away, that it would be best if they just ate their breakfast in the lounge and watched TV, 'cos "Daddy was in a very bad mood, and would be stomping around the kitchen etcetc"...
Anyways, my eldest (6) asked why, and I told him the truth - that as usual, I didn't have any money to do anything nice. Bless him, he said that we could just go to the park, or summat, because that didn't cost any money, and he gave me a big hug.
Man, I nearly cried.
Whenever I'm feeling down (like I am now), all I have to do is think of my gorgeous boys, and I can't help but smile.
They are my reason, and I love them very much indeed.
