Damn I thought you were concerned about whether
folks in the other units would rat you out for smoking!
Unless you are up a couple of floors I'd check this one out with the landlord/lady first. I empathize with you as my other half and I have a kitty in our life too. It's kind of stupid as cats don't bark/shit/piss on the rug floor etc. I love dogs too, but find cats to be more practical for a variety of reasons.

my dad owns a few appartment complexes, and unless it says you can have a pet in the lease, the pet isn't allowed, unless your landlord is chill with it.

Depends on the landlord. If the landlord is a bitch, you'll get evicted. For the toking, it depends on the neighbors, be real careful. You might have better luck in confined spaces than I, but I'd tell you, getting busted in such a confined space is not fun.

If they do allow pets there will prob be a pet deposit. Around where I live the average is 250-500 bucks, most of which are non-refundable. It is much easier to get away with bringing a cat into a complex that allows animals and just not claiming it. That way if the see it they may just ask for the deposit money. It depends what your landlord is like, I know a few that don't give a shit if it is someone that doesn't cause them problems while others will give you a month to leave right there.

You aren't going to really be able to hide it though. The land lord can enter your appartment if they have reason, but can't go through your shit. Not to mention when something goes wrong with your place the landlord's maintenence crews will be walking through, and sometimes apt manager may stop by. It is risky and I would wait until you find a place that accepts animals.

wow, why dn't you have a window? just sneak the cat, like your neighbors will give a shit about a cat. cats are quite and indoor type but dogs can be a problem. (unless they have a deadly cat allergi)

and if you walk around your floor and you smell pot from someone's house, thats how you know you can toke up, if not and all you smell is curry, i wouldn't so confidently

I never had any problems. I lived in a complex full of family's with children and no one ever complained or mentioned anything. Just keep your windows closed... Just keep your front door closed and you should be fine, but I guess it depends on if your neighbors care.

don't push your luck with the cat. you could get evicted if you refuse to give up your cat when you get caught. so keep looking until you find a landlord that says yes to the cat.
