View Full Version : is multipurpose compost ok for seedlings?

hey guys.. im startng my next grow in a few days.. well gettin my bio bizz soil on sunday.. but i have some multipurpose compost layin around.. its says it for general use sphagnum peat based compost.. would it be ok to use it for my seedlings to start them off??? i would mix some perlite allso then after like 10days repot them into my bio bizz light mix? the compost bag says its ok for seedings i just want to make sure its ok.. becoz if by any chance i cant get to the store to buy the bio bizz soil till next weekend i can still start germin my seeds today and get the ball rolling:thumbsup:

I avoid any and all peat-based prodcuts for indoor growing.
But that's just me.

well unless i hear sum1 else say yes thats ok to use for seedlings.. i think i will just wait till i get my bio bizz soil.... anyways thanks for ur reply stinky;)

Everyone does it different so if the bag says it's good for seedlings, I would assume it is. I think peat is good for seedlings cause it holds moisture which seedlings need. But since you only have a few days to go, you might as well wait if it makes you feel more comfortable. I'm just pointing out that I would not hesitate to put my seedlings in peat and perlite.
