So i couldnt find a legit thread on tattoos so i decided to make my own. Im turning 18 in about a month and i really wanna get these lyrics from a song on my right shoulder blade. The lyrics look like this:

A heart of stone
A smoking gun

Theyre from the song Banquet by Bloc Party but anyway i think it would be sweet. Does anyone else have any ink? Also anyone from nyc have any recommendations on tattoo shops?

Cant answer any of your questions but can only say that im 34 now and i got words fm a song tatood on me arm and boy do i regret it. it looks shit so many folk ask about it and to be honest its a baaaaaaad idea. get a pic of something but not names or words. only my opinion.

I have a tattoo of a intertwined peace and bio-hazard sign. and I got it done in NYC, the place is like a dual headshop, tattoo parlor, on 3rd street near Washington Square. I wish I remembered the name, cuz the dude did a good job.

I have my daughter's name on my arm and another ancient trible going down my leg with a flower. That one is kind of a work in progress. Im going back next sat for my second session. Ill post some pic's when I get a min. Peace

I've got the japanese kanji for demon (Oni / 鬼) on my right shoulder. I also plan to get an octopus on my arm soon. I can't wait. Getting inked is amazing...

heres mine, it looks weird because my arm is scrunched up, but it turned out perfect and am very pleased with it.

people may disagree with having lyrics or words tattooed, but this one will be with me my whole life, its not only a great message, but its also like a string tied around my finger. a reminder, and a light.

Tat number 1...Love Life on my left wrist. It has a lot of meaning to me and a positive one at that..

I really wouldn't get full lyrics though because as you get older your tastes in music are going to change and maybe your outlook on life.

Example: At 14 I wanted to get a dotted line and a tiny pair of scissors on my wrist that said "Cut here"..EMO right? That shit changed completely and now I've got a great tattoo that I'm not ashamed to show off or to explain, but I think if I got the one I wanted when I was a youngin', I'd be embarrassed to tell anyone about it.

I'm getting my next one next thursday, I have NO idea of what though yet, it's sort of a splurge, which I don't recommend...I have a few ideas tho, I'll post pics next week.

Being a tattoo artist i cant say dont do it because well gotta make a living but but sure of what ink job you want with words id say be sure they will still be significant to you in the years to come. goodluck
