do i have enough light???

:thumbsup: hey guys.. im not to clued up on lummens and how many watts per square meter you need.. well my grow tent is like 4ft by 4ft and just over 6ft high. is a 400watt hps in there enough light?? coz i used it lastgrow got like 6ounces from 5girls.. but i was thinkin like am i wasting alot of light with the unused space? would my yield have been much greater if my space was half the size? ive only done 3 grows so i know experiance will help to get me higher yields.. i have a spare 250watt hps allso.. i was thinkin for my next grow i could veg the plants with the 250hps as its a cooler gental start for them then add the 400watthps for flower.. giving me 650watts but i may jjust start them under the 400... as winters comin i dont think i will have a problem with heat.. but would that even be considered enough light? o by the way i plan on germinating 10seeds.. so will be expecting from 3-6 girls in my tent.. allso if i endend up with 4 plants would it be best to put them all under a 400hps and add the 250hps as side lighting or have 2 plants under each light??

Pics would be awesome but in short, yes a 400hps will be enough to successfully bud 4-6 plants, depending on your growth room need to make sure the plants can adequetly grow upwards and girth wise.

adding additional wattage is a plus, more watts = more growth.

i yeild close to 1 pound(14oz give or take) with my 400hps usiing the scrog method and my space was only 23inches by 4ft. use both lights for flower and that should increase the yeild........i wish i had 4ftx4ft to grow, i would use a 1k hps in a cooltube if i had 16sqft and try to yeild over 30oz. 2.4oz per square foot is possible with scrog(and a little practice) good luck!!

thanks for your replys guys...damn im so excited.. i just got my seeds in the post nirvanas ak48 and dutch passions blueberry so im a very happy man.. off to get my soil n bits n bobs the weekend n im up and running again.. bigger badder greener bitches for me this time.. o 1 more thing im going to plant 10 seeds in hope of 4-6girls.. would the 250hps be ok for there veg stage till say 12-14inches? or would i be best starting off with the 400?? once again thanks all:thumbsup:

i personally don't like hps for veg. plants like a difeerent spectrum for veg. i would recommend getting a conversion bulb and use halide for veg. i veg with 8 4ft agrosun fullspectrum flouros and have excellent results. you can get a conversion bulb for your 400hps ballast rather inexpensive here are a few to look at:

hey justaseed... well i think i will stick with my hps for veg on next grow.. as i have just spent £55 on seeds im goin to spend £60 on soil neem oil and few bits and the rest of my money at the mo is tied up with bills bills my neices birthday and more bills.. so i think i will give getting any new lights or conversions a miss this time round.. but thanks for your advise much apreciated:) .. i can feel my next grows gonna be very special.. ak48 and 1 of my fav smokes blueberry:) .. ive necer grown neither.. but very much looking forward to it.. all i need is a nice little veg room and im away.. if only the room .. and damn if only the fuck growing weed was legal.. shit i would have plants growing in everyroom in my house.. except the bathroom.. as you all know it can get a bit stinky.. gotta spare my ladys of that shit haha... well later next year im going to be growin some tomatos strawberrys and a apple tree mabe some other stuff ..growing my own weed plants has got me wanting to grow everything haha.. its all good..

ello buddie.. i will certainly post some pics.. but as i havent started the grow yet i have nothin to take pics of.. just a bare grow tent with a 400watt hps in.. a carbon filter and a 12inch fan.. im getting my soil in 3days.. germ the seeds and should have some lil sprouts to take pics of soon:thumbsup:
