No, absolutely not. Leave them on the plant dammit!!!
remember more branches means more buds
If you're going for more branches you have to do it in veg.
More branches=more buds, but not more WEIGHT.
And finally, trimming fan leaves does not make more branches. Pinching the GROWING TIP makes more side growth.
DAMN I hate when people spout off like it's Gospel but they have no idea what they're talking about.
Hey when did you start? I'm thinking about growing next season in iowa.

it was sooooooo easy to grow this baby. I just started with 3 seedlings and vegged in slightly indirect sun then toward early september i took out the males , (unfortunatley there were 2), and began using a little guano tea (BUDSWEL) as reccomended by Soma. It may be coming down soon though due to the upcoming frost:(

PINCHING BRANCHES=TOPPING THE PLANT, Right?
i.e....trimming off the top cola in the 4-6 week of vegetative growth in order to mantain a bushier more compact plant,(i believe)

Or are you referring to "supercropping" where you just lightly bend the stem to achieve shape

Yeah, you pinch the growing tip when the plant has at least 5 nodes, then as side branches form, you let them get to a few nodes and pinch each of them back too- it makes the plant bushy, but you have to veg it a lot longer.
You can't pinch after you switch to 12/12 or your yield will be HURTIN'.
