I need to start eating at Burger King more often...
http://www.wltx.com/news/story.aspx?storyid=42837
(Los Lunas, NM) - Three employees at a New Mexico fast food restaurant are facing felony charges for allegedly putting pot inside two police officer's hamburgers over the weekend.
The officers conducted a field test on the burgers when they noticed something was wrong. The results came back positive for marijuana.
Police say officers Henry Gabaldon and Mark Landauazo decided to stop for a snack at the Los Lunas Burger King just before eleven Sunday night. They ordered a couple of burgers.
Detective Cavallero said "while eating the food they detected something was very wrong. Another Sgt. came and field tested the food and it tested positive for marijuana."
Los Lunas police were called to the restaurant and after a short investigation arrested 19-year old Jason Armijo, 21-year old Robert Knuckols and 33-year old Joseph Ledesma on a variety of felony charges.
â?We don't know why they did it. Maybe they just thought they'd play a joke on a couple of officers" said Lt. Joe Sanchez.
As for the officers, they became sick and were taken to the hospital. Isleta Police found nothing funny about the incident.
â??Both of them are veteran officers they have spent their careers and their lives fighting the war on drugs, and this is a direct assault on them. They are victims, and it could have ended in very tragic results if they had been responding to a life or death situationâ? said Detective Cavallero.
I love the way Fox News covered it
they were so nonchalant, and laid back
y'know how they get overdramatic with their stories, and theres always a mood when they tell a story, with this one, its was like a something to make your day story
it made mine :) except for this version where the cops look like assholes, which in this case its safe to say they are

'Both of them are veteran officers they have spent their careers and their lives fighting the war on drugs, and this is a direct assault on them. They are victims, and it could have ended in very tragic results if they had been responding to a life or death situation'"
Lol, c'mon now. No one was gonna die and no one was a victim, it's marijuana not ketamine xD.

The officers didn't become sick. They got stoned. Why can't the news tell the truth? Even though I wouldn't liked to be drugged without my knowledge (unless it was marijuana or cocaine, and they told me, but I'd be happy, not pissed), I still thought it was funny. They noticed something was terribly, terribly wrong with the burgers?
Well... if the workers just put buds on, then the officers would take off the bun, after chewing something strange, and see a bud, and they wouldn't need to test it... No. It was a lie. What probably happened, is that, they enjoyed the burgers (maybe they were the amazing new BK Stackers), and then, an hour or two later, were sitting in there car, eating donuts or something similar, and then, noticed something was "wrong". They probably went back to the police station high as a kite, and they got drug tested, and tested positive for marijuana, and concluded, it was from the burgers, and just so happened to be right.
That's probably what really happened.

i think orangeman is right........
the werent victims ... theryre people just like us, they have smoked before... they probably enjoied it till the high was almost wore off, then they bitched and went and raided the damn burger king
but i wouldnt say.... SICK or TERRIBLE or no dramatized shit like that

Internal Affairs: "Officer Gabaldon, your urine tested positive for marijuana. What do you have to say for yourself?"
Officer Gabaldon: "It was the burger. I swear it"
Internal Affairs: just rolls eyes
Serioulsy though, the most fucked up I ever got was when I ate two weed cookies. Just unbelieveably wacked out of my mind. If these guys were really two straight as an arrow, never smoked or did drugs in their lives, types I can see how the experience would freak them out. And yeah, I can see the statement of "it could have ended in very tragic results if they had been responding to a life or death situation'" being reasonable. Not that the weed would hurt them but that they could hurt themselves or others. Think about it, two guys, high as a kite with no clue about what's going on, both with loaded weapons. Scary...

Fengzi: you made me see it in a different light. If they were normal, and then a minute later, their whole reality changes, I guess that would be pretty scary, since they had no clue... but then again... I don't know...
I still think it's funny, and luckily it WAS just marijuana, and not something that could have caused them physical harm.

you.are.right.
I didn't think of that either
but I'm not known for thinkin much
but now that you mention it, two extremely stoned cops with weapons is a scary though, especially if they decided to go on a power trip

I agree that its wrong to drug someone without their knowledge but sheesh, they went to a hospital? Come on, its weed. It has the chemical potency of a strong tea, maybe even less.

There's always the possibility that there was something else in the burgers as well, and people tend to panic when they ingest something that could potentially be toxic, which can really alter how you percieve a high or whatever. But putting drugs or chemicals or whatever in somebodies food is a major felony, remember those college students that laced the food that was delivered to some faculty members? I think that they could get life for that.

I think this makes more sense than the official one!

Although I find that very irresponsible (what if they had to go to a shoot-out later on high?), I also find it equally hilarous. I'm sort of confused about how they got sick enough to go to a hospital (there's no way it was the pot), bad burger maybe?

I understand the death part. I did find it funny, but imagine if those cops responded to a domestic violence call before the high kicked in. They get there and the high starts to kick in. They are no longer effective at defending themselves if the husband pulls a gun on them or his wife. I agree the news made it look a lot worse, but it could have been very bad. If something like that had happened, I imagine the workers could have been charged with the death as well.

If I were one of those cops, I would have kept my damn mouth shut and gone to order another burger "just like the last one!"
Guess that's why I'm not a cop.
