View Full Version : Chernobyl Disaster
It's been nearly thirty years since a nuclear power plant in Russia created a widespread panic. Does anyone know if the place is still inhabitable?
I just read that Chernobyl is a dead town. Over 20,000 people lived there before the evacuation, now only 2,000. Much of which who still remain diet on contaminated vegetables and fruits. The wood they burn for warmth releases radioactive chemicals from which they inhale.
This is horrible. I find it jaw-dropping that even after thirty years the area hasn't been able to recover from this nuclear disaster. It makes you wonder how much our Earth can really endure.

no the area still isn't inhabitable, and the teams that have been there trying to clean it up this whole time, can still only stay in the area something like 5-15 mins in the absolute strongest radioactive gear...
yeah man search some for some of the pictures of the fucked up insects and animals that are in that area. I remember seeing a pic of a 3 headed worm one time that was in the ground under chernobly something like there sex drive is all changed i don't know exactly but radiation is something i wouldn't want to be around.

i saw a movie on it in my sociology class.....made me cry....the site of Chernobyl is very silently creepy.....
they say the problem NOW is that the areas affected by it that were not completely evacuated have become so DEPENDANT on others support/recourses that their entire CULTURE changed.....
