Hay all
Good news my first ec meter arrived today
So Iā??m finally able too feed properly for the first time, great but Iā??m very confused.
Soil and Nutrients
Iā??m growing in bio-bizz all-mix (ec-2.4, pH-6.4) and using formulex for cuttings/growing and bio-bizz bloom and big bud for flowering Iā??ve also got some superThrive.
I donā??t think ill need to feed during growth stage and may be only the last 4 weeks of flowering.
Pot-Bag sizes
Starting cuttings in rock wool, and then going up to 3ā? and then 6ā? pots before flowering in 8L bags. I plan to flower at about a foot tall
Water Supply
Iv got a couple of options for water supply at the moment Iā??m using rain water stored in a bucket with a air pump to keep it fresh it has an ec-0 pH-6.5. But I could be using water from my local store which has an ec-2/4 pH-7.2
Watering & Moister meter
I have a moister meter that I use as a guide for watering and normally let the plants dry almost right out in growing stage, should I be doing this for flowering. Iā??ve had problems with drying times for my soil in flower stage, in the 8L bags it takes about a week for the soil to dry if you water until its had its full. But if you water 1L at a time then the soil dries out in a couple of days. Is this what I should carry on doing.
Questions
Which water supply should I use?
Is a base value of 0 ec possible for rain water? My ec meter seams to be fine.
Should I be pH adjusting?
What are the best ec and ph values for each stage? I understand that youā??ve not to go above 0.8ec when feeding in soil but Iā??ve read that for growing cuttings in rock wool 12ec and a pH of 5.5 should be used is this true.
Should I mix big bud and bio-bizz bloom together, to get the required ec level, or give them at alternate watering, and same for formulex and superthrive?
Any help or input at all will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. i have allready posted this at narvana's site but with not alot of feed back. thanks
