I found this grow light offered on a specialty lighting site. Wanted an experienced person thoughts. It's a full spectrum light that has 4-T5 fl with a 150 watt HPS all in the same fixture. This would be for a small cabinet. Maybe 5 sq feet of cabinet space. I was thinking I could use 2-6500k and 2-300k bulbs.

I have checked that set up out several times, I don't even have to click on the link. I think that it is pretty nice, but you just want to make sure that you are ready to deal with a little more heat than if you were just deeling with florescents because the 150 HPS will put off a little more heat than the average CFL set up, but I think that it may be worth it if you can deal with it.
What style do you want to grow? I think that the light would work best with SOG, SCROG or LSTing.
The 4 ft one is nice to with 50000 lumens it seems like it would rock in a SOG set up if you did it right and could control the heat as well.

I have a small cabinet right now, 24" w 40" t 19"d, am planning on getting a bigger cabinet in the near future. I was going to use SCROG and tying to get a nice canopy. I have the current cabinet vented with computer fans, a dbl stack on the active intake and one on the exit vent. The whole thing is in a cardborad box and home built. Just started germinating a NLx. I think I am going to try this light and get a better fan to cool it with some 6" ducting.

that things is pretty damn cool i like that i use 150's they do give off some good heat but a decent fan exhaust will take care of all that kinda pricey but its neat

Sounds like you should do good if your ready to ajust if needed with the heat, and a scrog would be nice under that IMO.

Well made my choice to get the t5 HPS combo. Will let you know how it works. Right now if I run fans with one CFL the temp gets down to 64. so hoping with the HPS and the fans going the temp will even out to 80 or so. I am also getting a 265 cfl fan that should help. I have also thought about tweeking thre light fixture to attach some vent hose flanges. Will post how it goes.

With this type of combo what bulbs would you suggest choosing and would it be most effective to:

1) Use all blue spectrum T5s for vegging with or without the HPS?

2) Use all blue for veg and then flower with 2 blues and 2 reds and HPS?

I'm just wondering as I have been considering this combo light as well as a 6 or 8 bulb T5. I am still a bit unsure of proper/optimum spectrum percentages during veg vs flower. Since this combo light can provide both spectrums, what would you do?

Well the T5s are doing great. I have tried the HPS and it raises the Temp drastically. So I am going to get a 265 cfl duct fan from HD to exhaust the heat and see if that helps. I was thinking of leaving 2 6500k lights in for flowering and use 2 other 3000k t5s with the HPS for flowering, as long as I can keep the temp down. If the weather is cold (40 dg) the temp seems to stay just right with HPS on, but have to have the fixture like 2' from the plants. I can get the whole fixture with in 3" of the plants with just T5s and the temp stays around 78 to 80. I think this was a great light to get and has versatility. Will keep you posted

I am glad to hear that you picked it up. I have thought about it at least a dozen times. That light combonation for flowering sounds right on.

Well here we are 11 days after I set up the new light. The T5 and HPS combo is working great. I vented the box with a 80cfl vent booster fan and the temp stays perfect. Give the girls 18/6 light with the off period during the hottest part of the day.

I have a question about how much longer I should veg. If I go by the calender they have been veging for 21 days. I was thinkng of waiting 16 days to put them into 12/12. This will have given them 28 days under the T5 HPS combo. This week am going to get some fox farms nutes (grow big, tiger bloom and big bloom) I was also going to get some carbo blast to help them take up the nutes. So far I have given them a first 2 week feeding with dyna-grow.

In the pics, the first 2 are 2 days after I set up the new light. The other 3 are only 11 days after the new light.

So tell me what you guys think.
