Iā??ve been smoking on a Daily basis for a few years now. For a few years before that I would only smoke when it was at a party or something I was at and it was usually about once a month or so.

I feel that it doesnā??t really get me as high as it did back when I was smoking rarely or even for the first month after I started daily. I think thatā??s pretty typical for most people that they feel like they build up a tolerance after a while.

But I was thinking and I wonder if instead itā??s simply that you mind has re-trained itself. Like when you first smoked your mind had to re-learn how to do everything in the altered state. Itā??s like walking for the first time, etc.

I used to really hate driving stoned, like I would have trouble going too fast or too slow and I would see shit in the road sometimes lol, but after I did it for a while I just ā??got used to itā? and now it feels no different than driving sober. Also, Iā??ll be stoned and thinking ā??I donā??t really feel that stonedā? but then if I do something that I donā??t usually do, all of a sudden Iā??ll feel totally stoned out of my mind. Like for example I smoked a bunch before I went to one of my friends weddings, and wearing a tux and stuff and doing the whole thing which isnā??t exactly something I do every day I felt stoned as hell. Same thing if like Iā??m camping or out on the boat which I only do a few times a year Iā??ll smoke and feel stoned as hell whereas I hardly feel stoned at all when I smoke at home. I mean to the point where I can take fat bong rips at home and not feel as high as after a single toke from a pipe while camping, etc.

Then again there is other stuff, like I donā??t usually get the munchies anymore unless I smoke a TON more than I usually do, and I donā??t even remember the last time my eyes got red.

This has probably all been said on here 100 times already but just brainstorming :)

You could take a long break, that usually helps make the high better.
For me taking a break and then smoking again feels like the first time.. almost.
the high is much more intense.
try it ;)

I have been smoking for about 2 years with the last year being daily and no numerous occasions.

I wake up every morning, roll over and then pull the bong. Through the day I smoke a few times and lately by bedtime I almost don't care to smoke and burn my stash up because I don't get very high at all- slightly buzzed like off of a single shot of liquor.

I took a break for 3 weeks when I got popped and I thought it was going to kill me. :stoned:

stop for over 30 days and have a good diet/excercise program. then smoke the usual bowl and before you finish, you think, "damn, i ain't been stondeded, stonded, stow..nd, what was i saying? oh yeh! i ain't been this stoned since back in the day, ya mean?"

i so hate but love those long breaks!

love brooke:p

EciRon, sounds like I'm one of the few, but I completely agree with you. I noticed when I was smoking all the time that the differences between being stoned and sober were subtle if even noticable. But anytime I went outside of my comfort zone I'd relapse to being stoned as if I had to learn it all over again. then after time, my comfort zone would expand. After awhile of cooking stoned, surfing stoned, driving stoned, studying stoned, and just living life in general, stoned, I realised that I was just wasting my time and money. I cut back a lot and I noticed that the high becomes more intense, but without the noob inability to function. I recommend trying it and seeing if you enjoy it. I've cut back to smoking only 2-3 times a week (less sometimes) and its just all around better for me.

I honestly have been telling myself that for a few awhile now- 2 months or so. I wake up in the morning and smoke until I go to sleep. Somehow I maintain a fulltime job during the week, a part-time on the weekends, hold a serious relationship, reguarly work out and wrestly and yet I stay "buzzed" all day and no one but a handful of my close friends know it- not even my ladyfriend.

I rarely feel much difference if any at all when I toke no matter how much I toke. I rollerblade with my friends skating handrails buzzed, train martial arts buzzed, take drug tests buzzed ect.

Time to work on starting a New Year's Resolution early.

I dont seem to have a tolerance. I mean, i dont get as stoned as i did my first few times, but i still get completely fucked off one joint. I guess im just lucky. :D And thats after smoking a 1/4 a day for going on 4 years now, give it untill the beggining of december.

I have a theory about this.
I think that a big source of feeling "high" is being immersed in something. Your verbal mind sort of snaps you back into reality and you don't feel as high.
So when you become comfortable with something, you're sort of easing into a position that your verbal mind ends up interrupting more often.

i never smoked enough to build a tolerence, at least not enough for me to notice, i just kept smoking untill i got high...sometimes it might take me a couple of hits, sometimes almost an eighth :p

although 1 time i took a hit from a 1 hitter and freaked out...i dunno what happened but it was scary

I used to get through an 1/8th a day of primo skunk, but now Ive cut shit right down. I was spending too much on herb and I was constantly stoned which was becoming a bit of a worry for me. I need a straight head for some of lifes trials and tribulations. Now I try to only smoke on the weekends. I hadnt smoked for over two weeks until I picked up an 1/8th on saturday afternoon and oh my god it was just like back in the day. I had the tolerance level that most cann.com users would laugh at and well I'd laugh at. :D Managed to stretch that bag out til now monday afternoon, thats after sorting a mate out a nice fatty and goin mad on the bag. Just puffing my way through ma last joint and prob wont toke for a few weeks now. Just goes to show ya dont need to toke everyday and the high is so much better when you dont!

Peace
Buddy
