Today it occured to me, the average bag of heroin is $5, and a bag of weed is $10. Someone who wants to go to a party, and get high, who only has $5, would choose heroin over nothing. Heroin, generally speaking, is a bad choice to make in life.
Meth, I don't know the prices of, but I'm pretty sure its cheaper than pot too.
Perhaps the war on drugs cannot be won, perhaps we can't force every single person in society to go to work or school instead of altering their consciousness. But maybe we can save lives, save innocent people from dying, and save healthy minds from faltering.
I'm in Canada, where the government grows pot. There is also a shitload of meth in vancouver, and a shitload of coke, crack, and horse in Toronto. If the government offered $100 of pot for $10 of anything else, we could win the war on drugs. It wouldn't even cost that much, since "$100" of pot wouldn't really cost the government $100.

As prohibition is an amoral govermental intrution into our lives the only acceptable action is to repeal it. This will not solve the drug problem but that is somthing that we as a people must solve by giving help to those who need it, not wageing war on them.

I agree 100%. That was the worst logic I've ever seen; buying what you can with what you got. People don't function like that, and when they do...they have bigger issues that need attention.

I have to disagree with your first sentence, if I only had $5 but weed costed $10 every where around I'd just be sober at a party. I'm too busy and focused on trying to live and get a better life to pause my busy life and get used to new things that will relieve me of my stress and take me from this planet. Weed is all I need, heroine is nasty lol.

ya I know 15 year olds that do crack and coke every weekend.....also kids that have tried meth more than once and crap, its really gross but its not really a problem that can be easily fixed.

actually, sorry.
a gram of marijuana is normally priced at a maximum of $20.
a gram of meth is usually $100.
a gram of heroin is usually up to $300.
but yeah, it takes a lot less of both other substances to get you high than it does marijuana. but seriously, the best argument here is marijuana vs. tobacco.
you can get 3/4 of an ounce of pipe tobacco, good tasting stuff, with all the nicotine you need, for $5.99.
don't start with your pot prices.

why does anyone actually believe they have the right to tell another human being what to do?
Because one monkey saw another monkey EAT the red berries. The other monkey died. The first monkey decided to tell everyone, "Dont eat the red berries!"
