Damn...I get distracted too easy

So I'm workin' on this project for school right, then I realize I need some graph paper to make a line graph, so I'm lookin' for graph paper when I find this brand new package of...stick notes, hell yeah. I pick it up and open it, then I decide to write myself some reminders and stick them on things (like 'watch tv' on the tv, 'this is a lamp' on the lamp, etc.) and then all the sudden, like 15min later I realize I was supposed to be getting graph paper.

I do it all the time too, and I'm sure a lot of people do too, but like...Certain tasks I just can't do all at once. This is like the 3rd time working on this project too (could finish it in less than 2 hours) cause I just get distracted.

Who else gets distracted easily like this? It reminds me of malcom in the middle, where francis is supposed to work on a paper, but he finds ANYTHING to distract him. At one point he starts racing cockroaches.

Heh, I even got distracted enough to make this thread, I still didn't make the graph...I need to find some graph paper!

Getting stoned isn't always the answer to everything guys, haven't you seen the southpark episode with towelie and he learns to get stoned AFTER hes done what he needed to do as a reward!

If I did get stoned, I'd probably get fed up and decide to turn it in late. Especially now since the printers fuckin' up...Gonna take like 20min to get this shit to print, happens all the fuckin' time too :(

What is getting stoned and then doing homework like?
Does it make it more enjoyable? Can you actually concentrate at the task at hand or start drawing random pictures in the middle of the page?
I want to do this but I'm not sure how it will work out for me, though I'm hoping it will make me super smarter and understand everything so much easier.

It takes alot to keep my concerntration, always find something else to be doing, by the end of the day ive done a hundred lil jobs and not the one I started on in the first place.

Smoking while reading a text book is usually a bad thing if it is the first reading of the text. Read your book straight the first time. THEN get stoned and read it again. The pot will let you see things from a different perspective. Take notes as you read stoned. Write your papers stoned, but clean them up straight. Use spell check! Remember, MODERATE pot use will increase your IQ, while heavy use will decrease it! (Here's the proof, a scientific study-- http://www.cmaj.ca/cgi/content/abstract/166/7/887). Math and marijuana don't mix for me- I did all my math straight and rewarded myself afterwards. I graduated with honors--with my husband in prison, 2 adult, unemployed sons going to college and living at home, holding down a parttime job as a housekeeper to a cantankerous stroke victim, working as a tutor and lab assistant. Pot got me through it all! You can get stoned and still do a good job in school! When you do an assignment, you need to get everything together BEFORE you get started. If all else fails, make a check list and just go down the list. The list can keep you on task. ( I work in special education and we use this with some of our kids- I'm not trying to be insulting- I know you're not special ed, but if using a list works, it works! Old stoner that I am, I use lists frequently.) Pot is useful in some cases of ADD, and it sounds like you do have a touch of it. Good luck with the printer.

Tell you what, as much as I enjoy smoking...I think its taking its toll on school. I hate math and im doing mechanical engineering, go figure. Anyways with math a little smoke is ok but man this stuff kills me.

Yeah, I have ADHD. I used to take ritalin for it, but I stopped that shit. Thats amphetamines...which isn't cool with me. I started twitching whenever I stopped taking it too, I hate those kind of drugs.

Its not that I lack discipline...its that I forget what I'm supposed to be doing because something new and interesting comes a long. It always happens whenever I have to look for something, or temporarily switch to another task.

And yeah...storm crow is right. I don't like to watch certain kinds of movies high for the first time, cause I won't understand whats going on. But, it does let you see things from a different perspective, you think more about what is going on and analyze it differently.

I have ADHD too.. its not really that bad, and my doctor took me off my meds for it like a month ago. I was on Adderall and it really helped me pay attention in school. I want it back.. Ive turned back into my old self not paying attention to instructions, doing things wrong, and just sitting around daydreaming. This shit gets me in trouble and just the other night my dad locked me out of the house until around midnight. Also if you take more adderall than you are supposed to take it makes me more energetic than normal

think that could last as a long term affect (twitching) cause I got prescribed Ritalin for it and got it taken away a month or so later cause the councellar guy changed his mind about my ADHD(told my mom I actually dont have it)...think that could be why im so twitchy all the time??


and Crudemood, getting stoned is really helpful for me cause im kinda hyperactive, Once I understand the question I get really into it and dont get distracted or bored like I normally do....its totally different for everybody though cause I get really mellow highs usually but some people get giggly and stare out the window and stuff, you just gotta give it a try and see how it turns out.

Yeah, I hate to say it but I twitched for awhile after that. I think I still do, but no one has said anything to me lately. Some bitch called me a rabbit once cause I was tweakin' my nose so I know I twitched in 8th grade (over 2 years after i stopped taking it) and I'm pretty sure people mentioned it occasionally freshman and sophomore year, but no one has said anything this year so I dont think I really do it anymore.

Wikipedia says side effects of ritalin are motor tics (wich is twitching). Ritalin is an amphetamin, so the side effects are similar to those of meth... I wish I was never put on that shit, perscription drugs will fuck you up way more than weed, long term too.

Yeah, next time I'mma make sure I have everything. This was a project though, usually I don't need to gather a whole lot, just a book, pencil, and paper. I can do homework all at once a lot, unless its just too long and boring, then I look for an excuse to do something else real fast and before I know it I forgot what I was doing.

Dammit...I had 3 homeworks tonight and I didn't do any, and its too late now plus I'm way too stoned to even start them...Oh well. Ah shit, 4 things I forgot...I'm so fucked. Oh well I'm not close to failing any classes at all, and grading periods over so I'm still good I guess.
