View Full Version : Do my seedlings look okay?
I've been reading this site for about a month now and am putting together a homebuilt hydroponic system. I have a few seeds growing in soil to eventually be moved into a hydroponic system.
I'm wondering if someone can tell me if the plants look like theyre coming along ok? All of these pictures are from the same 8 day old plant (bagseed). Sorry about the crappy picture quality... but I think you'll get the idea.
The plant is ~2.2" tall.

your pictures are not good enough to tell any signs of anything right now. Word of advice; going from soil to hydro is not a good idea if it is even possible. You want to start out in hydro if that is what you will be using or stick with soil. Make sure you do not over water and do not add too much nutrients at this point in time or your plants will show negative effects.

Unless I read something that was wrong, I think it's fine to rinse the roots gentley(removing all soil) and move into a different medium. It'll shock the plants of course but if they live through the first few days I'm sure they'll get healthy again. Like I said, I could be wrong but it seems to make enough sense. Thanks for the response.

By taking a plant from soil to hydro you have to be very carefull when rinsing the roots, and getting them out of the pot without ripping them. If you cause too much stress you could hermi your plant.
