Just need to know if they are looking ok. I have two plants both are about four weeks old. For the first 3 weeks they were grown on a window sil which im guessing is the reason why they look stretched. I have been out and bought some proper lights and for the past week they have been under them 24/7. Do they look healthy and is there anything i should be doing. Debating on wether i should put them them in bigger pots now or leave it a bit longer. Any help would be appreciated:) :) :)

They look good to me. I think you should probably re-pot them, but I'm not a soil-expert. I would re-pot them, tho. Otherwise, they dont look burnt or anything. Ohh and when you re-pot them, bury them up to the first pair of serated leaves. Get rid of a lot of that stretching...and the plant can grow roots out of that part of the stem!

Cool.

was worried that cos i started with just natural light the stretching was too stresful for the plants. Also worried they might be males cos of how tall and skinny they are. When would i be able to tell?:) :)

would repot and bury them deeper also and might put a circulating fan on them to help strengthen the stems and keep your lights close as you can.

got a fan on them and they about 1 inch away from the lights. Temp is a steady 26-28 degress c. Fingers crossed. Will replant them tomorrow as soon as i get some bigger pots. What sort of size pot should i get?

Watering them every 5-7 days with bottled water will repot them today hopefully.

switch to floro's. you can put the light right on top of em and stop that stretch immediately!

ge makes a flo called daylight (6500k, 40w t12, 3050 lumens ea) these bulbs are awesome! my plants are 30 days today and 10 times the size of yours, and an indica strain at that.

Yea, I guess I forgot to ask what "proper lights" were that you mentioned. :)

Definitely get some type of HID light, whether it be a Metal Halide (best) or a High Pressure Sodium (2nd best) or Compact flouros (3rd best) or some CRAP light (do not do this)...or of course grow them outside but with direct prolonged sunlight. (real best) :D

Did you re-pot them yet? What size did you end up getting ? 8"...?

The lights i have have are 2 20w flourescent tubes and 2 30w ones. Went to my local garden centre today and bought some bigger pots and new soil. Have just finished potting them and will add some photos later today when i can bothered. Cheers all and further guidance always appreciated......

Just an update a week after repotting. Stretching again a bit and bottom leaves are yellow and wilting:confused:

would recommend that the next time you re-pot, mix in about 25% vermiculite. This will provide better draining, and a more aerated soil.

Time is about right for the seedling leaves and the first real set to be dying off, so no cause for concern there.

You can only tell sex around 2 weeks after switching your lights to 12/12 and about the dying leaves have you feed your plants yet? If not they are probably hunger and that could be why leaves are yellowing.

Peace :rasta:

indoor growing you need to keep the nodes as tight as possible the will fall over if they ever flower good luck

would probably go ahead and flower them and they should show sex usually within a couple of weeks while it is possible to sex the plants in veg stage and generally they will show when they are 4-7 weeks old but in your case your plants are stretched and look way under developed for their age probably due to bad lighting for the first 3-4 weeks of their life so wouldn't expect to much from them, flouros are ok for starting seedlings under for a few weeks if kept close but when its time to flower you would be better off with a hps light which im sure you will find out, while some use flouros and really cram alot of lights to attempt to adequetly light the sides and the top of the plant for flowering a hid will always out perform them.

have you looked at any hps lights if you are going to continue to grow would go ahead and invest in a decent light to flower with.
as per fixing these plants well you cant really fix them at best you could keep the new growth more compact the old growth is going to always look stretched which is why you should probably go ahead and flower them if you are going to, if you start more seeds and keep them close to the flouros instead of leaving them in the window for 3-4 weeks they would look alot better they would be alot more compact with a shorter distance in between internodes. while that light you linked to would probably work ok for a scrog or as one out of a 3-4 lights system if you have no other option and have to use flouros instead of getting a hid you can cover more area with more bulbs even if they were less wattage using 4 25 watt cfl bulbs is going to allow you to position them close to the plant like one at the top and and a few along the sides. its true all lights will lose intensity the further away they are but atleast hids give you a little bit more range to work with.

they appear to be females how long have you been in flowering?
your have some issues with your leaves curling down may be overfertilized or might check the temps maybe to hot.

Fair enough but trust me B&Q don`t do cool white (6500k) lights of any kind, only warm white (2700k) which are only useful for flowering.

I understand that bottled water isn't any better than tap water. What's better than both is tap water that was running from the faucet on cold for 30 secs, then left in an open container inside for 24 hrs.

have been flowering for over two months now and not sure wether to harvest or not. Have looked at them up close with a magnifying glass and the trichlomes looking clear/frosty. I know i should be waiting til they are 50% amber roughly. Does anyone now how long this should take? Patience is needed i know but getting very tempted to cut them down now. I have got to clear my growing area as soon as. Any help please!!!!:o

If half of your trichromes, as visible through magnification, appear to be cloudy or almost opaque then I would suggest you take them. If you were to wait much longer you're going to begin losing potency. Cut them and hang them somewhere dark and well ventilated until you can break the stems easily. Then put them in sealed jars, opening regularly, for curing. You still have at least a week or so to go before your buds will be ready to smoke.
