This is my first grow and after three weeks of natural light on the window sil i have purchased some decent lighting. I realised this is why they are a bit stretched but im hoping the new lights will help. Firstly i was wondering do they look ok. I have two plants theye are about 4 weeks old from seed. Any help would be appreciated.:) :) :)

It's a good thing that it is alive, so use those new lights and hofelly everything will be ok for you. What types of light do you have them under now??

I would suggest getting them under the lights as close as you can without burning them. They look okay now, but will look much better after a week or so under full light. Just cup your hand over the top shoot closest to the light. If the light feels comfortable on the back of your hand then it should be okay for the plant too. If it's not burning your hand but a little uncomfortable, then just raise the light a tad. Flourecents make it hard to burn your plant as they don't generate much heat, but care must be taken with HPS and especially MH. Hope this helps and keep us posted.
Oh ya, forgot to ask: shat type of light did you purchase?

Mr. Burns..
You have serious sretching going on..Ithe plant is reaching for a light source) Get a 42 watt CFL and keep it 1 inch or less from your plant.. you need to stop the dramtic vertical growth.. and build some girth..

These are the plants in they're new pots. I have burried them a bit deeper to help with the stretching. Already they are looking a bit stronger and hopefully the new soil will help them a long a bit. Will post again in a few days to keep you all posted.:) :)

thanks for the update.. nice pot.. it would havebeen ideal to add some perlite in your soil mix.. you will need to becarful that you don't over water...
BY "over water" I mean FREQUENCY, not QUANTITY.. i is ok to give you plant a lot of water during eah watering.. this is actaual ideal.. but you want to keep watering frequency AS NEEDED..
cheers
she looks better already : )

They seem to be stretching a bit again and the bottom leaves are turning yellow and wilting...

They look like they're getting better to me, like knowm said make sure you're not overwatering, i'd say twice a week would probably be enough for now, that may be contributing to the leaves wilting. How many hours light a day are you giving them? And what colour spectrum are the lights you got? If you've got the warm white type that won't help your stretching problem.
Peace :rasta:

Don't sound like a problem with your lights then, i wouldn't worry too much, like i said they look like they're getting better, maybe give them a flush with plenty of water, i like to do that about once a month.
Good luck :rasta:

just a few pics any comments will help. Have cut the lighting down to about 16 hours a day. Some of the bottom leaves have died or dying/turned yellow.

Cant wait to get my next grow going have learnt a lot from this 1st grow and with the better lighting i have now hopefully i cant sort the problems i have had so far. Dont wont to rush the grow i have now but i need to get my leaking ceiling fixed and until i have harvested my grow i cant get it done. how long do you reckon i'll have to wait til i can harvest? Was thinking of buying some feminised seeds off one of the links on the homepage for my next grow. Is this a good idea anyone got any recommendations of what to get or where from?

haha i was angry when i posted that... lol sorry...
the plant looks all stretched out and untidy, it probably could have done with some LST'ing, but its probably best left alone now, as for the leaves curling downwards it could be root-bound or have nute problems, hope u figure it out, - good luck ;)

sup burns how's it going man pretty gd if ur ready to harvest lol. any ways if you cut her down just above the soil line and most people hang the hole thing up for a day or so makes it easier to prune then you just trim off all the fan leafs and take it from there. please show pic's of ur yield would love to see it!
