Police would NEVER take the time to target individual users by tracking them over the internet.. but it wouldn't be hard for them to easily lock up a few users on here on the cultivating section that are stupid enough to post picutres of themselves along with their marijuana growing setup, by simply obtaining that users IP address..

So, as long as you are taking place in general discussions here, thats just freedom of speech.. so I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with Lip, the boys (and girls, just so that I'm not branded with any distasteful lables lol) are only interested in the big cultivators...unless, of course, their stash is getting low, and lets face it, we become interested in the small growers when our stash is low...

There has been a few busts around our way recently, and things have started to go underground again for a bit. One guy heard that the helicopters have been equipped with new cameras that can pin-point a heat source, and in so doing, discern whether it is for growing, or just someone cooking up a tin of beans in the basement...which is the excuse that I would use...I already have a stove and beans can in place...no flies on me, eh!

And besides, I expect the 'authorities' have already thought of that, and are monitoring this very site as we speak. However, I hardly think that the columbian cartel would be so silly as to frequent a website...why would they? They have far better things to do with their time, like stabilising the world economy, doing deals with governments, and smoking high quality bud...all the time...how do they do it? where do they find the time?

Its almost scary to think how easily someone can get busted on here for growing.. Pictures of plants are incriminating enough, and an IP address would tell all. And the funny thing is, nobody would know! It would just be a user dissaperance which mostly always go unnoticed, and is almost common.

For all we know, a government could have very well created this forum system or even if they didn't create it, its really easy to get on here for absolutely free.. I would bet my life on the fact that there had to at least been one instance where a government official visited here to gain some sort of information..

The small-time growers are probably good for law enforcement, since their money stays in the economy and is spent on lights and nutrients and stuff, which keeps people employed. And at the same time, little or none of their money ends up in the hands of organized crime, whereas if they just bought their stuff on the street, it would. If you had access to statistics, there's probably an equation: every X number of small-time growers they bust, Y additional cops are killed by guns purchased with money that ended up in the hands of organized crime that otherwise wouldn't have.
