hey guys well here are my problems. i planted a trouble maker 8 days ago. My first time btw. Im just getting into germ+plant. Anyway, well at first the plant seemed to be growing very quickly the first few days, seemed like everytime i checked it, it had grown within that small period. well up until day 5 or so, i looked at it and it looked just like day 4. figured nothing of it and just kept doing the usual, watered once or twice a day depending on ammount. i started off with one tablespoon a day to two a day. it was at two at day four. then day 6 and it didnt grow again. saw that i hadnt even had to move the lightbulb higher at all. well then i figured, maybe its overwatering so i didnt feed it but half a tablespoon. day 7 came and i didnt feed it. and now day 8 and i put just a tad of water. and it still looks about the same. same height and all.
hopefully someone can help me with this because no matter how much reading i do i just cant seem to do it right. out of the whole seed pack of trouble maker this is the only seed i got to germinate. and also tried bag seeds with no luck. they just seem to pop and then just sit there for days.
shit im talking to much, then noone is going to want to read this long ass thread. well here are the pics. hope you can help a nooby grower out. thnx in advanced.
ohh and the temps stay at 78 average and 40 percent humidity and im using scotts potting soil(crap) and distilled water.

transplant to potting soil without ferts added
no miracle grow or any other soil that has time released ferts added

heres a picture of day ten. i didnt give it any water all day yesterday. i looks like the edges of the leaves are turning that maroonish color and also a little more on the tips of the leaves. the leaves do have a bit of maroon spots in the middle but just slightly. was i overwatering it or was it something else? should i water or keep it dry still? hope i can save this plant because this is my first seed that actually sprouted. im attached to it heh.

Well I used Scotts potting soil and my plants did great. I can't tell what kind of little pot you have it in-does the pot have drainage? I had a terrible problem with stunting due to poor drainage in some of my pots originally--the problem caused both underwatering and overwatering problems at the same time. Took me a long, long time (and the loss of several plants) before I figured it out.

well i transplanted the plant into a pretty big pot and used shults garden safe organic soil. looks alot better than the scotts soil. i watered it last night right after the transplant and watered it a bit more just right now. here leaves look maroon still, especially the bottom right one. the good thing is that it looks like the top leaves are starting to spread open instead of just pointing straight up like they were for days. do you guys think shell make the transplant ok? i bought a ph tester, and the ph level was around 6.5, before the transplant it was at 7. its a rapitest ph meter, those any good?
well let me know what you guys think can help the plant survive.

Did you have pine bark mulch on your original potting soil? Big no-no, too acidic. That would cause the damage and stunting you were seeing on the seedlings.

i dont know if it had pine bark but it did have alot of pieces of wood in it. i checked it with a ph meter and it was right at 7. isnt it supposed to be around 6.5 to 7.
weedman, it cant be over fert since i havent feed it anything other than distilled water the whole time. all i know is that the soil does have food that it comes with but thats common with most soils isnt it.
i think it stunted due to the small foam cup i had it in. the roots were a bit stuck to the cup on the edges a bit. that and it looked like the water was floating on top for a bit and then it would finally soak into the soil.
the leaf has gotten a bit more spots so who knows whats going on, i just hope it doesnt die bc thats my last trouble maker seed. anyone know if chrystal or white widow are easier to grow?

What about insect damage? You may have a sucking insect, the pics are a little blurry but is that a fine stippling on the leaves?

i dont think i have insects. i did see some very time hopping dots when i transplanted the plant and watered it. it was right after i watered it. but thats been the only time since then. what would a stippling be?
i just went to go check the plant out and it has gotten even more maroon. ill post pics of it in a bit.
the very sad thing is that ive been trying to germinate seeds for over a month now and this plant is the only one that has gotten to the tail part of sprouting.

Sprinkle a thin layer of diatomaceous earth over your soil surface. Hopping dots are never good!!

uhmm im sorry to say your plant is gonna defiantly die you defiantly tampered with the roots in some way.. but yeh i transferred my sprout exactly the same look as yours and i accidentally ripped a small little piece of the root and it fucked up the sprout entirely! it started to look at ur last photo then it just curled up and died lmao but im happy because i got 19 other plants that are now 1 month old and getting pretty skunky already... really healthy cant wait for yeild and there feminized so defo gonna get 19 femsss!!
