Okay, I'm rather new to growing, I love smoking, and I definately love the idea of being able to grow my own flowers to smoke :rasta: Lowryder came very appealing to me with it's short life cycle, and autoflowering. Is it really as good as it sounds? Decent quality smoke in 2 months? Next question is pollenating. One male and one female, right? Okay, I have no idea how the pollenation process works at all and it would be great to be enlightened upon the subject of such. Does the female after being pollenated produce only seeds? If so how many? Just looking for a few good answers

hey there markass.. i have growin lowryder twice.. i must say its a joy to grow they look so pretty.. yes 8-9weeks seed to bud... lr was my first grow i had 4 and yieded 1oz each give or take a gram... i wasnt happy with the taste of my buds .. but on my 2nd go with proper ferts soil more knolege i grew them better and the taste was lote better.. but as im a heavy smoker the high wasnt great for me... but some say they get very high from lowryder.. so give it a go ... yes if you pollenate a female with a male you will get seeds in your buds.. how many depends on how much of the plant is pollenated.. for instance if you only want a few seeds.. find your male take him out of the grow room place him some where else then he should release pollen within bout 2weeks after showing sex.. get the pollen and use a paint brush and paint a few bud sites with pollen.. then theres your few seeds. if you want lots of seeds then let the male pollenate the whole female... you will have hundreds.. but if you have more then 1 girl and dont want them all polenated i would sergest you plase your female you wish to pollenate and your male in another room so when the male releases his pollen it doesnt get on them.. or you could cover the plant with a plastic bag with wholes in.. but i woulsnt recemend that.. i would recemend putting your plants on a 18/6 light cycle..hope that helped you out some.. heres a lil pic of 2 lowryders at harvest on 12/12 light cycle they yielded bout half ounce each in only 65days from seed

Lowrider would be great is you could succesfully clone her. That way you could take the smallest, fastest, most potent, largest yeilding plant and make tons identical. The whole problem with lowryder is that you have to continue her through seeds and the plants are rarly identical. Some are tall, some are short, and I have heard that some even are not auto flowering (I'm not sure on this last point, but that is what I have heard from other members who grew her). I wonder if there is a chemical or a way to suppress the the auto flowering trait long enough to clone her. Then she would be a truely amazing plant!

I donno..but 2 months start to finish is worth replanting for me..and I don't care if they're all identical..they're going to smoke :) But yeah, would be cool if we could clone this plant :D

Quick question: Is it advisable or would it make a difference to top an autoflowering plant such as lowryder? I plan on growing some white russian x lowryder that I guess you could call semi autoflowering? (Dont mean to hijack this thread)

not meant as a 'pop' ... just a true statement, LowRyder is a low-quality plant ... if you are going to risk the legal aspects of growing, why not grow the best you possibly can ? ... :smokin: roadcam, formerly the image reaper

I totally agree with Roadcam.if you are willing to take the risk then at least make it a memorable smoke.Northern Lights is my favorite and it does basically what you are saying that this Lowryder stuff does with one exception.Northern lights has about 4 times the potency.Mine flower in eight weeks every time.not eight weeks from germination, eight weeks from the time i move them into the flowering chamber.

yup, Northern Lights is definitely a great strain to grow ... short, low odor, kickass potency, tolerant, and a very good yielder ...

My strain of Northern Lights was in clone form and smelled of hot tire. Isn't that strange? Almost a rubber smell. Very good and tasty though and excellent smoke. A good 8.5 out of 10.

So what if it's low-quality.. he said he's a relatively new grower and I think lowryder is excellent for new growers. It grows fast with practically no effort and just helps someone gain experience with the growing process.... besides, you could always just sell what comes off the plants and buy some better buds with the money you make.. or make some hashish or honey oil..
Also, lowryder is good for people who don't have a lot of time or space for growing. I mean sure he's risking growing anyways, but maybe he only wants to risk it for two months instead of six to eight.
