Grandaddy Purple (aka Purple Erkal). Considerably more potent than White Widow, Sour Diesel, Silver Haze, etc. Tastes like hash when you smoke it. 100% indica with a super strong, almost narcotic, body stone but unlike a lot of indicas this one will make you seriously twisted mentally. Pretty common in the San Francisco medical cannabis clubs but, since it's only grown from clones, hard to find on the street.

I live in Belgium and six months ago on the news they said that the weed from Holland is getting too strong for what they originally forsaw when they legalised it. My buddy is like one of the biggest guy in town when it comes to dope. He bought me and a few friends an ounce of this purple shit. He says people call it Purple Haze but its not. Its a hybrid between White something-or-other and a purple strain called Erkal. Got us completely fucked off our heads. I could swear I baked myself to the moon and back that night :D Needless to say fun was had. The guy that brought got himself completely incapacitated, and if I sat still for too long I kinda lifted out of my body. We finished off the whole ounce, even though we probably would have only needed 1 cone each for the night.

The strongest I've ever had is Matanuska Tundra, related to Alaskan Thunderfuck, and good samples are reported to be up near 30% THC dry. I kinda doubt it but it's the strongest I've ever had, a lot better than Jack Herer.

People seem to think that trichs are the only thing on cannabis that gets you stoned. It's what's contained inside the leaves, not just on the surface.

It's like if you make hash by shaking off the trichs of some buds. Some people throw away the leaf matter after the trichs had been collected and they are dumb. There is plenty of THC contained within the leaf matter.

So yeah, WW and white strains have a lot of resin, but what is also contained within the leaf is what matters.

The best in the world that I have run across is some from the island of YAP in Micronesia. Foot long colas that started off light green with white hairs that went through a bunch of color changes until it got to the top.... the leaves were black and the hairs were dark purple. It had a spicy flavor, and 1 hit would put you into a total mindfuck, 2 hits and your tripping. You could pick up a single cola, set it down, then rup little balls of resin off your fingertips.

The only thing that I have found in the US that compares is some California Pharmacutical that my brother got for me with his medical card. One hit and your done, 2 hits and you hear colors.

WW when grown hydro, under perfect conditions is about the best I have had.
Skunk 1, however just provides dank, near perfect highs every time. Cannot kill the bastard, takes absolute negligence.
Cannot argue with northern lights. Very sweet, great smell, time and time again.
Blueberry is a complete mystery to me, I haven't been able to grow it to any kinda yield. Northern berry is a very nice cross, but doesn't have the blueberry that I expected. Stable, reliable due to the northern in it. Sweet toke. I grow it and skunk 1 almost exclusively now.

Strongest bud? There's no need to have some ultra super-potent ganja. That super potent shit doesn't always have the best high. Of course, you don't necessarily want super low potent shit either.

As long as the high is high-quality, it's game. Taste and smell matter to me, too.
When it all comes down to it, it's the high. If it's super-potent, but it just makes me fall asleep, or makes me feel like shit for some reason, then there's no reason to smoke it.

High quality high, high quality taste, and high quality smell. And yes, there is ultra potent bud out there with all those qualities, and I'd smoke 'em.

My point is, high potency doesn't always mean "amazing bud."
A lot of people boast "real good shit." And then I smoke it with them, and it's mediocre. Potent, yes. Unique, great high? Nah.

If it's grown by an expert who has passion and love in growing cannabis, and cures it long enough, the good smells and tastes come through. Most of the shit you get from a dealer is under-cured, and while it is potent and hits you like a ton of rocks, it just doesn't cut it when it comes to the taste, smell, and high.

I'm currently getting ready to flower some Hindu Kush and NYC Diesel, dunno how those are, but they were recommended by a friend, so I thought I'd give 'em a shot. The Kushes are bushes (heh), but the NYC Diesels are still just seedlings, so probably end of the year before the Diesel is ready.

I usually smoke highs, and I haven't tried that many strains yet :( . Trainwreck is great and one of my favs. However the best bud I have had was called "Butter Kush", it was extremely sticky (stuck and clinged to fingers and anything that came into contact with it with persistence), smoke was thick, sweet, and easy to handle, smelled like the essence of cannabis (hard to explain), and after just one hit I got smashed out of my mind (effects were felt instantly). The nugs was also extremely dense and small, but heavy (one pretty small nug I smoked was .9)

How do you find all these different strains and know the names and stuff? Do you guys just buy from dealers that tell you?

The majority of us actually know what we're talking about. Never trust what dealers say, coz 99% of the time it's complete bullshit and couldnt be more wrong if they tried!

Any strain can be great if it's grown well whether in soil or hydroponics. "Hydro" refers to a soil-less growing method that lets the roots get washed in nutrient mixtures and water. Growers can more exactly give plants what they need this way. Plants tend to grow more quickly with hydro but not necessarily more potent than soil. Hydro does infer that the grower knows what he's doing, therefore ensuring a more potent and tastier weed than some guy who throws a seed in some soil and lets it grow.

Anyhow genetics determine greatly the potency of weed, so it is true that certain strains deserve praise over others. There are hundreds of famous strains though... Kush, diesel, haze... all famously good marijuana and worth mentioning.

Actually the Diesel and OG Kush line comes from a SUPER famous strain most of you have probably never heard of: Chemdawg. It was started the early 90s and it's descendants have become famous in their own right. But the original Chemdawg line--germinated from bagseed found in some super potent weed at a midwest concert--is the best weed I've read about. The mother of ECSD (the first Sour Diesel) and OG Kush, more potent and easier to grow, remains the holy grail of many growers.

SuperSkunk. I never buy, I always grow my own about once every 5 years. This fall I harvested a very late blooming Super Skunk that I waited an extra 2 weeks after the glans looked ripe under magnifying glass, and I harvested her on 11/2/07. This babe is One-Hit-Quit-Shit!!! One big toke is all I need and I've been smoking weed almost daily for 35 years so I have built some tolerance. When I take 2 tokes I feel too stoned. 3 tokes and I overdosed. I also harvested a NorthernLights#5 that seems to be just about as potent.

This is quite a surprise because my last harvest was 2001 with 4 plants (40 dry oz) of Burmese X FuckinIncredible, which was not even close to SuperSkunk or NorthernLights#5 which are 2 or 3 times as potent as my BurmXFI. All of these plants came from seeds I bought from Mark Emery in 2001 which I kept in the frig for 6 years.

im not that experienced but i know ive smoked purple haze chronic, juicy fruit, and train wreck. train wreck was amazing made me feel lke i was sinking into my chair, juicy fruit only had like 4-5 hit but thats all i needed to soar, and the purple haze crhonic i cant even describe

The best in the world that I have run across is some from the island of YAP in Micronesia. Foot long colas that started off light green with white hairs that went through a bunch of color changes until it got to the top.... the leaves were black and the hairs were dark purple. It had a spicy flavor, and 1 hit would put you into a total mindfuck, 2 hits and your tripping. You could pick up a single cola, set it down, then rup little balls of resin off your fingertips.

The only thing that I have found in the US that compares is some California Pharmacutical that my brother got for me with his medical card. One hit and your done, 2 hits and you hear colors.

AK47, White Widow, White Russian, NL. All of these are well documented highly potent strains, but IMHO I think that Cinderella 99 is the strongest strain that I have ever had. That stuff is asskickin!! :asskick:

Grandaddy Purple (aka Purple Erkal). Considerably more potent than White Widow, Sour Diesel, Silver Haze, etc. Tastes like hash when you smoke it. 100% indica with a super strong, almost narcotic, body stone but unlike a lot of indicas this one will make you seriously twisted mentally. Pretty common in the San Francisco medical cannabis clubs but, since it's only grown from clones, hard to find on the street.

I just had both granddaddy purple and hindu kush at schwagstock last weekend and the kush was the better smoke..

Potency to me doesn't beat taste and high. The best weed I've came across was Grapefruit. The fruitiest tootiest flavor and high around. You smile when you smoke it, and you taste it for hours. Its incredible. If I could get my hands on some of those seeds I would never seek another strain again. But for now I look forward to finding this incredible plant.

Sigh...this is an age old question. Honestly the strain doesn't matter as much as how well it is grown. For example Northern Lights is extremely potent, but if you don't know what the hell your doing, you could grow it like shit. Then you might end up with another strain, such as strawberry cough that is not normally as high of a percentage of thc, being better than the northern lights.

I always thought that White Widow, Northern Lights, true Blueberry, AK47, OG Kush were pretty dank until I started growing Mandala's Satori. This will put you down if you don't watch what you are doing. This is a nighttime smoke. A couple of good bong rips is all you'll need. The taste is like pure hash and so is the effect.:stoned:

It is a sticky question this.... For nicest strains I'd have to say deisel, blueberry (beautifull taste!) and at moment I gots a really nice bubblegum! but these are on taste, Ohh nearly forgot mango!

As for strength White widow is fuckin crazy, but in amsterdam got some strain called Elephant and it truley was, you don't know what couchlock is until you've tried it, can't even remember what coffee shop it was from but when I go there again I'm sure I know the way! Any way thats not the strongest, You should try Super Silver Haze from greenhouse coffee shop so good not heavy just a beautiful ride. Hazes are a good bet, grew some Skunk Haze (skunk no.1 x haze) takes forever but has been the highlight of all my grows!

Anyhow, I've lived in and around the Oklahoma City area my entire life so the quality of anything I've smoked prolly doesn't stack up to some of the strains I've seen mentioned in this thread; most which have made me straight drool. Yum Yum. Verrrrry jealous.

First time I ever smoked was at 18 and it was some shit a manager of mine had stolen from someone else's crop: he ripped the poor guy off for 2 pillowcases full( didn't know it was ill begotten goods when I smoked it though). We smoked 8 joints of whatever it was and I enjoyed what still qualifies as my best nights sleep ever; on a cold concrete floor no less. It was 8 j's and my first time toking though so take it FWIW.

Other than that, I've smoked what my connect swore was kind bud and it was good in comparison with the normal weed I get around here, but I doubt it stacks up well with the other types on this thread... *sigh*

I was in AMSTERDAM a few years ago, me and my buddy were coming back from Poland and had a connecting flight to catch in Schipol with a 7 hr wait so we decided to jump on the train into Amsterdam city cenre and went to the nearest cafe we could find... (I dont even remember the name of it)

We had like 30 euro's between us so we put our money together and got a gram of White Widow...15 euro's.... (everything on the menu was the same price...but the weights differed slightly) and we rolled two of the fattest 'deadly' cones I have ever smoked!

It was fine sitting down in the cafe.... But I swear to GOD! when I 'stood up' and walked outside into the fresh air....my fuckin world turned inside out man!

I could'nt even speak! I was totally disorientated! I swear to god! when I was walking my arms and legs looked like tracer!

I'm sooo glad my buddy was there with me to guide us! (and the train station was only down the street!.... I'd have been hit by a tram otherwise!)

WE (well him mostly) managed to navigate us to 'Macdonalds' I think...It might've been burger king....though I'm quite sure it was Macdonalds.....

All I remamber from there was my 'buddy' eating his burger and fries...and to ME... it looked like he was stuffing them into his face REALLY fast!!.... WELL this was the funniest thing in the fucking world man!!! :) I nearly fell off my chair...:) I was crying with laughter!...... He just looked at my though.... I could tell I was making him paranoid!

Next thing I remember is being on one of those big double decker trains on our way back to the airport.... It was pretty full...so I had to stand..and all I remember is trying realllllly hard not to burst into a raging laughing fit! even though 'everything' was fucking hillarious man! haha! :) What a day!

WHITE WIDOW gets my vote....hands down!
