Good stuff, always a pleasure seeing new artists come up.

One thing about the video though...well the song in the video actually.
I'd personally drop the high pitchd voice, shit's a little annoying, ya know?
It's been used in so many songs/shows/etc.
Other than that, good luck to the man!

if you want input that kid looks like a loser with an image problem to me. yeeeea yeeeeea yeeeaaahhhhh. what exactly seperates that from all other rap. oh hes sampling journey. this is not an attack on you and purely meant for constructive purposes.
jeeeeee thats what i ammm

o yeeeeeeeeaaaah

im tryn ta stack my nickels and dimes

seriously that is worse than typical rap to me and i am not a big fan of average rap

it is just a shame that he might make money off that crap when thousands of real musicians go unsigned. a crying shame

Have some family in Detroit so I liked it as well, and I'm a huge hockey fan so and this verse caught my eye big time "I live in hockeytown" then had the hockeytown/redwins logo behind him, I'm guessing he was outside Joe Louis Arena. Glad to see he brung something I liked into his rap.

kinda average......nothing really stood out in that song....the lyrics were simple....and by simple...listen to mike jones and thats an example of simple lyrics.. real rap needs metaphors and shit, listen to chamillionaire and you'll get an example of that

its good but he copies the flow from HOLD YOUR HANDS UP HIGH - Talib Kweli and Jean Grae

but its good still

If i had an Mp3 encoder id rip this song, from his first cd, and put it on here.

That song reminded me of that BIG and 2 pac track, hell if I can remeber the name, but the high voice reminded me of that.

It was an okay track, nothing wow I found. It lacked originality. I've seen and heard it all before. He needs to write lyrics that MEAN something. Something that makes you look at things in a different view, something that makes you think.

If he were to come up with something original and fresh, I'd probably dig it, but I've heard it all before, you know.

Yes sir, He goes by the name Chief.

and if you followed a link, most likley the www.dirtymitten.com/audio/potential.html

it has around 15 songs, most new, some old great ones.

now remember this is my cousin havin fun, he isnt in this for a career and has already graduated from college with a degree in Graphic Design from Pittsburgh(sp) University, so if his rap career goes nowhere, hes got something to default back 2...

no matter how good this is(and it isnt, there is nothing original about it), there is no market in america for a canadian rapper. have a different opinion of mine, but this guy isnt going to make it big in america

shows how much you pay attention..

I live in hockeytown.. hockeytown = detroit = michigan = america..

read books, educate yourself.

2 - He's already big in michigan, he's prolly got more bitches than you got friends.

3 - It's called having a good time.

4- suck my dick.

well shit i stand corrected obviously a sample of about 30 people who feel obligated to be positive about pretty much everything they see means he is already a huge commercial success in america. i mean shit his cousin likes him im surprised he isnt at number one on the billboard charts already. he isnt big in michigan. my opinion is different from you, how does hockey town apply. im sorry that there isnt a market for shitty canadian rap sampling journey in america. but since you say he is big even though 99.99999% of the country hasnt heard of him, well i guess you are right. god how wrong i was. thank you for showing me the light

have a good one:thumbsup:

is that "alvin and the chipmunks sing journey"????? :)

but really i liked it, i think he has talent; with a recording contract, and some musical guidance i think he's got a good sound

wonderbear
10-06-2006, 04:19 PM
his other songs are pretty good too

one thing i miss in rap artists is that they never play instruments and i'd like to see your man master an instrument for the moments he's not spinning rhymes, but maybe that's not supposed to be in rap; i just have a problem with lyrics+simple synthisized music

good luck to him; i think he's got a shot

blueberryyumyum
10-06-2006, 04:33 PM
pretty whack, he didn't have any punchlines, or clever talk, and all the shit that he's sayin has been said twice as good... about growing up and struggling... this is constructive, his flow wasn't bad... i think he's just gotta work on his overall lyrics. beat was pretty hard. keep at it guy

if you're white and you wanna rap, you have to be exceptional

It's called Runnin', it's that Tupac and Biggie collaboration. Good song. I haven't listened to this dude's stuff yet, because I am currently in a public area. But as soon as I'm home, I will give it a listen and give my input. By the way, if you want to hear some good rap, msg my friend Playdead on AIM: [email protected], and he'll send you some of his raps. He's good, and a lot of them are freestyle.
