Actually, most parents are not gay. That's why they have kids.
If you're 19 and don't like living with your parents, might I suggest getting a place of your own?

dude, some people arent in a good enough position to just be able to say, "hey i want my own place," and then poof, ur own place
nobody around here wants to hire me just because i got busted with bud. they say Im a "criminal" and that they dont hire "my kind of people".

Yeah, it's not easy, but you can't live with your parents forever. You'll have to do it at some point.

Keep looking. Not all employers are vehemently anti-drugs. Some of them, believe it or not, toke the reefer too.

Yeah man, it is what it is I guess. My parents busted me a few months ago.
But try if you can that as strongly as you believe it's cool that you smoke, you have to accept that it's just as much against your mom's wishes that you do it. Plus if you have been doing it since you were 14 and your folks just found at that at 19 you smoke, then they still actually just found out that you smoke. It can come a shock to some parents.

Don't discriminate, gay parents can have kids too! ;)

New Pipe: $10
1/8th of Dank: $30
Look on your Dad's face when the police bring you home at midnight and tell him they've just busted you for possession: Priceless
I can't tell you how many times I had battles, similar to the one you describe, with my parents. Mom finding my stash, Dad walking in on me smoking a joint, police bringing me home at midnight, etc., etc. I used to think they were pretty "gay" too. Now that I'm 36 and a parent myself, however, all those "ignorant" things that they used to do, that pissed me off back then, suddenly make sense. Whether misguided or not, it's just because they care. Try to remember that.

I feel like the odd balkl out here.
My parents are NOT cool with ANY drugs.
My parents never found out for sure if I was getting stoned. They asked plenty of times...but I never admitted, and I NEVER brought my shit home. Keep in mind, I wasn't smoking a pipe or a bong...just BT's and jays. I always stored things outdoors - not even on my property.
To this day, even though I am no longer at home (and haven't been since shortly after I turned 15), I find other ways of concealing my "stuff" when I go home to visit....
You have to appreciate where your mother is coming from, if you want her to appreciate where YOU are coming from.
As for your dad...he's a hypocrite. Maybe tell ur mum about him?? Blackmail goes a long way....
but if my kids ever try to blackmail me, I'll get them...lmao
I totally agree with everything that Fengzi said! Hey Fengzi I'm 36, too!
Anywhoo...Your parents are just trying to look out for you...don't be too mad at them! However I am an extremely good liar - this comes in handy!
Just so you know, too...you'll never change their mind....My parents still yell at me for shit at age 36 - Hang in there...

My foster parents were seriously hardcore against any kind of drugs, or drinking. They had to be, to keep on the good side of the juvenile court system. So, when I was 17, greatly desiring to take control of my own life, I joined the Army and became my own man. You could probably go that route too, if getting out from under your parents is a goal (which it should be at age 19).
Get some job skills, money for college, travel the world (and kill people occasionally, perhaps). You don't have to be a huge muscle-bound guy either; I weighed like 100 pounds when I joined, at 5'10". I had to slouch four inches off my height when they measured height, get a medical waiver from a doctor AND not shit for a week (that was one of the hardest things I ever did in my life there) to pass the minimum weight requirement. Anyway, you do have that option, and it's not all bad. ;)

Dude I feel you on the whole, I cant just jump out and move awayThing. You have to find someone to live with and, around here places are not cheap. Well any ways yes your parents need to chill the fuck out. If you say you have never failed a class. And assuming you havent been alot of trouble over pot. Then I would talk to them, and if there not agreeing then say chill the fuck out. Shit im gone be 21 soon and Im still living at home, my parents dont like me smoking but they sorta got used to it, and the fact I advoide them when im high. But they got over the whole weed thing like 2 years ago.

lol, you aren't kidding.
I wish my parents just complained about me smoking, instead of 'why aren't you married yet' or 'are we ever going to get grandchildren?' or 'you should lose some weight' or 'why didn't you ever go back for your ph.D?' or 'you know, you should really mow your lawn more often. Your house looks like hippies live here!' or 'you should have never broken up with that nice boy who took you to prom, he's SOOO handsome' and on and on.
They just care. ( I keep telling myself that)
The talk that you need to have with your mother is respecting your personal space.
The talk that you need to have with your dad is not being a hypocrite if he really does smoke with you and your friends, he should be honest with your mother about that.

How does paying $800 benifit for your parents paying for your food, clothing, abnd shelter? I'm sure she's really glad you spent that on yourself instead of rent or groceries. Not too mention a $1000 loan? A loan, to your mother? She's your mom man and $1000 cover maybe 2% of what YOU have cost over the course of 19yrs. Way to be greedy man.

I think Oneironaut pretty much sums it up
Talk to your mum. If you haven't failed classes like you said, and you're leading a good healthy lifestyle, then she'll have to see reason. Just talk to her, respect her opinions and the fact that she cares, and don't get angry.
Peace.
apparently you need to go back and learn a thing or two... >.< parent's never have to see reason, and they rarely ever do. don't you remember the classic "because i said so, that's why" ..... ahh yes that's funny a parent having to see reason lol..

Being a parent is hard. You want to make your kids happy and you want to do the right thing. Unfortunately the two rarely coincide. Plus, its not like 2+2=4, water freezes at 32F, or the capital of Texas is Austin. In other words, there usually isn't any "right answer" . You do what you think is best and you have to make those decisions on the fly. Parent's say things like "because I said so" because it sounds a hell of a lot better than "I made that decision because I really had no fucking idea what to do"
