i've left mine in original packaging or baggies etc for months in my dresser drawer and never had any problems. but i always soak mine in water with a few drops of superthrive for 24hrs before planting/germination. others may have different experiences as climate, strain, seed quality etc could all be contributors to the outcome of your experience. i wish you the best.

Best way to store seeds is to put them in an opaque paper envelope with a decsicant (spelling?) and place in the BACK of the fridge. Putting them close to the front will just encourage condensation from the door opening and closing all the time. By putting them at the back of the fridge there will be much more stable temps there. A good moisture absorber (avoiding that word!) is dry rice. Silica works the best though. The best possible storage would be to use a fridge that is dedicated to seed storage. That way the door stays closed and the temp inside stays as stable as possible.
