trips me out. I have developed a passionate interest and growing obsession with the 60's music scene particularly what most would refer to as "stoner music" or druginfluenced wtf ever.
Everyday I smoke and there are some classic rock songs that I listen to that seem to draw me in and make me listen with keenest of ears to each verse. Some songs have brought on chills but evertime I listen to Stairway to Heaven, I get chills and lost in the song. It's just so awesome and the lyrics are so vague yet they make you cling to what is being said.
I love it and after reading so many interviews and pieces on various artists such as Zeplin, the Doors, The Dead, Jimmy and particularly the latest writeup in Rolling Stone of the actual Rolling Stones, ect., I wish so badly that I could go back in time and live their lives. They make great reps for sex, drugs and rock roll.

If you lean more towards the heavier sound.. like zeppelin, stones and jimmy.. check out King Crimson & Cream
Buy a projector, pyrex (clear) cake pan, some oil based food coloring, and you can get the liquid light show too ;) :D

Led Zeppelin is one of my all time favorite bands.. but Stairway is not one of my top songs by them. Don't get me wrong, it's good.. but I just think that Zeppelin has so many better songs. Their music spans so many different types of music, from good 'ole rock n roll, to blues, to folk, to boogie (Boogie With Stu, anyone? kick ass song).. and back again.
But yeah.. I agree with you. Classic rock will forever be my favorite. You can't find shit like that nowadays.

I supported Thin Lizzy in a band once, couple of others. I was in rock bands from about 1971, just in time for most of the best stuff.
I also waited nine months to see Mott' - and when they turned up they were without Ian Hunter. I was gutted.
But I like the earliest stuff best. Cream, bit of Wishbone Ash, early Deep Purple...yeah...:)

I'll tell you how times have changed though...a friend of mine knows Robert Plant and I got offered tickets to go and see them live a couple of years ago, prime seats. I turned it down. I remember the day I would've killed for a seat at one of their gigs.

i agree, its a very good song, a sick guitar solo as well. but its definately not my favorite zeppelin song. there are many better out there in my opinion. as a matter of fact im listening to bonzo's montreux right now. one of the best drum songs ive ever heard.

Try Jefferson Airplane, they have tons of awsome songs that are especially great to listen to while stoned.
