Ok so I recently made a trip to home depot and put together a lighting fixture from a 3 socket bathroom vanity light with socket splitters making the 3 sockets into 6. What I need to know is what type of CFL bulbs should I use? 3 warm whites and 3 cool whites ? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I think it depends on what you're planning to do. If you have a seperate light for flowering, I would stick with the cool bulbs (6500k) for vegging. If this lighting is for the entire grow, then you can mix and get both color spectrums. If you have a few extra bucks, you can get all cool for veg and then all warm for flower. I like keeping the lights very close at first to keep them shorter.

Thanks for the input. I plan on using this six bulb fixture for the entire grow. I will only be flowering 2 plants at a time with this.

I'd get 4 cool and 4 warm, use 4 cool and 2 warm for veg then use 4 warm and 2 cool for flowering.

I use 6 45 watt CFLs to veg with and it gets vigorous growth. Coincidence we both went for 6 CFLs. I think you'll be happy with them. My two cents is mixed warm and cool so you've given them both ranges.:rasta:
