LST don't cut esp if you're new to all of this i still don't trim cause you never know when the plant gets too stressed, LSTing will expose more light to the plant and allow you to grow more buds

what kind of light are you using?

Either LST the plant... which is gently tying down the main growth shoot to expose the other shoots to more light and cause the plant to produce more growth hormones for the other shoots (which are now the top-most shoots. This will give you a wide, weird looking plant with a lot of similar sized growth shoots. When I say weird, I mean, it will work pretty or not, but its an art to make it look like a beauty. That usually involves LSTing in combination with Topping.

Or you can TOP the plant... where you cut the top growth shoot off, therby causing the plant to grow the adjacent 2 growth shoots bigger, because now, they are the top growth. You can start this after the 4th or 5th node and continue to top the main growth shoots as they develop more nodes. This will stress the plant also, but you can achieve great results if you do a good job.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Be cool.

generally tieing down a plant in growth is to achieve two things!
a mother that produces lots of clones from the untill then budding or branching points,
or to maintain a large area with few plants and keep it low, this can be done by growing under nets,
the idea of trimming the leaves in half by cutting hoizontally across all the palm leaves and trimming of any side branches is to grow a single cola, or bud!,
this is the method used for sea of green,
the time in grow is spent concentrating on root development NOT grow!
hence the need to photosynthasis is greatl reduced, slowing down the plant in this way induces more internodle growth, ready to become budding points, and form one big bud with no branches, it is imortant to say that once the plant goes from grow to flower that nothing is cut from the plant!,, NOW it needs all the foliage it can grow , and as it has still a third more to grow at least during flowering, and a massive root structure, the new leaves will be thick and healthy and provide everything you need for sog!
as far as stressing the plant is concearned , stress isnt always a bad thing!,,, we all remove and cut leaves in the same way to produce clones!, and controlled heat stress i at the tip of the plants can be explosively good!,
use stress dont fear it!
