first time cab grow

ok so thinking about doin a small scrog cab grow the room would be for one plant 24''h X 17''d X 14''w im planning on using cfls i need to know about how many what exact lights i should buy i know this will have low yeild im expecting around a .5 oz. to 1.5 since i will be using scrog method any suggestions?? all help will be appreciated i will be taking pictures to show...also any suggestions on ventilation im planning on using the true air plug in carbon filter for odor

thats a pretty small cab so i simple PC fan will take out all your heat my cab is 32x16x16 so its almost the same size all i use is a PC fan with a 150watt hps bulb, dont scrog LST instead it does the samething in a way and less stress to your plants.

do you know where i can get a good pc fan for cheap?? anyone know any good brands also? another thing is does anyone have advice on what cfls to buy and where best to get em? o yea i attached a picture of the desk i will be using we are gonna take out the things that hold the droors

radio shack has some comp fans for cheap.. also any computer repair store..
cfl's u need 6500 k for vegging and around 2700k for flowering.. u can pick em up at walmart for like 8 bux a bulb..

thanks notoriuos do u know what type of cfls those are ( i looked at wal-mart and they dont all say kelvin temp.)and like what wattage an lumens they put out i read somewhere i need about 2500 lumens since ill have 1 sq ft of space

try to get a decent PC fan makers like antec,artic cool, and such make very reliable fans i also seen a prewired AC fan like a PC fan somewhere on this site maybe someone will know what im talking about

i got u invision. http://coolerguys.com/ac120vfans.html... yeah i would suggest getting about 2 30 watt 6500 k ( they say daylight on them) "lights of america" brand cfl's for vegg and a couple of 42 watt 2700 (also lights of america) for flowering and ull b good .. try to shoot for atleast 4000 lumens per square foot with cfl's

should that 30mmX60mm one work?? we are starting to find out where the holes will now any suggestions on light fixture we plan on 2 sockets with each a connecter that V's off into 2 so we will have 4 sockets for the bulbs

no 60mm is actually smaller than a standard PC fan get the 80mm but for price just go with the 120mm cant lose there and that will pump plenty of air out and when you make your fan hole do it at the top of the cab towards the rear

i havent found any stores nearby that i can buy it in but i have seen places you can order it on line.. other then that there is flat white paint.. or some people use other reflective thing like an emergency blanket from any sporting goods store.. or refletix from home depot..

black and white poly is cheap but you gotta go to a hydroponics store to get it

dont bother with mylar i use it and its great but a pain in the ass to hang go to home depot and get REFLECTIX its mylar but 1000% more durable you can pull this stuff with extreme force and not rip it

good question i too have no good story...so i got lights today 4 2700k 23watt=100watt with each a lumen out put of 950 and 2 6500k 26 watt=100watt with each a lumen out put of 1600.... any comments on my lights?

reflectix is found where the insulation is if you cant find it ask them and tell them you are covering your basement to trap heat and keep it dry thats what i said when i went to a diffrent home depot and couldnt find it.

it comes in 3 sizes

Well i went to Home Depot today... i found this stuff called reflectix but it was more sliver like bubble wrap. looks nothing like what ive seen in ur cab invision...

doing a quick search online i found the stuff invision must have found.. its a diffrent kind of reflectix.. first one is the real foil reflectix.. 2nd is the bubble that i could only find at my home depot.

1stly ur gonna need the foil reflectix.. i dont think the bubblewrap style would reflect much light.. i believe its made to insulate rather than reflect visible light..ud be better off painting it flat white.. it reflects about 90% of the light back.. vs the foil reflectix witch reflects 97%... secondly i believe 3-4 sould be enough cfl's just make sure ur using the "daylight" or "cool white" for the vegitative growth, and when u switch ur lights to 12/12 switch the lights to the "warm white" type of cfl... 3rdly i hate walmart but they havwe everything peat vermiculite nutes lights fans paint .. just about everything but the seeds... i still hate you walmart!... hope that helps yah

well i guess on friday ill grab some of the bubble stuff currently im only using flat white paint..lol... 75w hps and 3cfl's (cool white) im seein some quite slow growth .. might just be the strain of plant .. ive only grown once b4 and evan then i got ansy and chopped it 2weeks into flower..lol this time ill have more patients..

That reflectix stuff that home depot and lowes sell is two thin mylar sheets with bubble wrap between them. Mylar has a great reflective rate (95%), just above flat white paint (85%+).

i believe ive been haveing ph issues i just got a tester.. so well see if thats the prob.. although i decided to try flushing it so i flushed with aquafina(lol i figured this is better than tap water for ph) and so water from my fish aquarium(i also figured this ph would be around where i want it .. the fish dont do well if the ph is off.. anyway they have perked up since so i believe this has helped.. also for nutes ive just bought some 24-8-16 fert..

so i bought that 120mm pc fan from cooler guys i hope it doesnt take to long to get here last night put up about half of the reflective wall lining the light is in place so i need a tru air carbon filter, chicken wire for scrog net, 1 gallon pot, nutes an soil, and a clone(going with ak-47)an ill be ready to start

yea with the lights on in there its damn bright.. hmmm so ak-47 wouldnt be a good choice? what would be good to grow scrog in a 1 square foot space with only about 20'' from the floor to the light and if possible low odor?? any suggestions

Cleaning that will be easy, Use soap + rubbing alcohol and some hot water, Or go to your closest headshop and buy some bong cleaner :P

yea my favorite solution for cleaning bongs is rubbing alcohol and salt and a bit of warm water never failed makes em clean as new its pretty much that 420 cleaner u can get at the stores....so yea waiting to a clone from a buddy of mine and also waiting on the fan so we can cut the hole for it...hmmmm also we need to get some soil and nutes i think thnats about it fan should hoefully come this weekend ill have some pics to show what the almost done grow cab looks like

yea so were a little slow on getting this started but we dont have much time to work on the grow area people are always coming and going so findin time to work on this is kinda difficult but we had to do a little rearranging anyways it was getting hot in there with the lights on so i moved the fan to the intake vent so it will be cooling the plant and hopefully when i get paid this weekend ill go out and buy a small pc fan to put on top for exhaust another issue is light escasping so im thinking of buying one of those mylar emergency blankets and tacing to the top and sides right inside the droors and having it hang down the whole way instead of each droor hole covered by itself also have black felt back to back with the mylar.... other than that purchases that still need to be made are ...soil...fertilzer...another fan...emergency blanket...clone... also need to finish putting up my other reflective stuff around little parts
