You need to get at the wiring of the fan. Use the red and black wires. What I did was; cut the end off an old 11V cell phone charger, connected the two wires from that to the red and black wires on the fan. Another person wrote that if the fan's turning the wrong way, just switch the wires. It worked like a champ. But I bought a weakass 88cfm fan. I need a 155cfm or even more. But it's all good. Just learning more everyday. Good luck.

you want to find out what Power your fans take (Currect) and what AMperage they are (Amps) ex.. Most Pc fans are 12V DC and somthing mA ex. .62mA
THis means any 12 V DC Power supply with atleast 620 MillAmps will power this,, So more Amps More fans.. be careful not to have too much power though if your not running Mulitple fans
heres a good example I have 2 PC fans each rated at
12VDC .32 mA
So that means I need atleast a 12V DC 320mA Adapter to run ONE FAN,
But wait I have 2 fans I dont want to take up two power sockets only 1 cuz im growing in a box and space is tight.
So If I get a power supply that is 12V DC 1 Amp. That will be able to run 2 fans no problem. Also leaving mee enouugh power to run a third fan rated at the same mA If I want to. .320 + .320 + .320 = 960mA
1 Amp equals 1000mA
Hope thius helps... I can answer more questions later Im at work so I typed this fast......

All is very helpful. This is by far one of my favorite sites everyone is so helpful (most of the time lol)...But I didn’t get the three pin I found a great deal on some 2 pin DV 12V 0.14 AMP so I would need 140 ma to power 1 fan. and just take each amp on the power supply (each amp is 1000ma??) so just add it all up and divide it by the 140 and that’s how many fans I can run with said power supply...? Where can I see how many cfm my fans are?
Also if anyone doesn't know about the red=hot black=Ground shouldn't mess with electricity...LOL....I thought this was the way to do it but wasn't 100% sure...didn't want to burn my house down over a damn PC fan....
And kdspecial tell your boss to smoke a joint and calm down & let you help your fellow smoker out....LOL again thanks...but still would like more info on it from you....lol

the cfm is rated on the fan It wont be on a pc fan cuz its made in china and its for a PC computer. No one cares their company web site may have it but i doubt it. heres a link to determine ruff estimates. for CFM

I think you mean when you say "(each amp is 1000ma??) "
That yes 1AMP is 1000mA
The power supply isn't the amp. A Amp is a measure of current.
Anyways, you can get some more powerful fans than that for the same price, I would look at some others. Mine are all 300mA And I have 3 of them on a 2Amp powersupply.
So I can still add 3 more. be careful never buy to big of a powersupply if your not going to run the fans. It will get hotter cuz its generateing unused energy.

I know the power supply isn't an amp...I'm not all that new to the whole electrical things. Its just one of those things I like to be 200% sure on. Well I found them for a good deal and kinda impulse bought them opps.. So their mine and I gotta make 'em work.. But I have a bunch of them so I can always add more.. If needed. I really need them for intake and exhaust fan (hopefully the carbon filter too) as my box got to 100+ degrees in under 20-30 mins... so before I put anything in soil I gotta fix that..Now I need to find a place that sells the dark room vents, or something will work to keep the light in. and about the carbon filter should I vent it inside the box or run some ducts to vent it to outside the box.

I used these paint trays, I also put PC Fan Fabric on the inside of my cabinet. So Far its keeping light out.

get a 12V 1000ma DC adapter and you can run 5 fans in series off one plug

0.32 mA is not 320 milliamps, it's 0.32 milliamps as in not a full milliamp. .00032 amps is .32 milliamps... a 1 amp power supply is hard to find but, it is what I would use to power them just to be safe.

Your right .32mA is not 320 MilliAmps
.32A is 320mA
I would double check your Zeros there though.. I could be worng,
sorry
it was late
1amp power supplys aren't to hard to find. Find a good Electronics store where they sell Ristors and Capasitors. they'll have all your Power needs.

For the Record....
1 ampere = 1 000 milliampere
Check the records...

I wasn't that tired, be sure to read it all before you post... espically with electronics.
