Tut tut tut, acid, you bad boy.

I think that Einstein actually proved that it did.

Wrong and wrong..
Einstein thought the universe was static..neither expanding or contracting.

He was wrong.. when the big bang theory was proven..it was also proven that the universe is constantly expanding.. not static.. and not contracting..

If you left earth.. and just travelled in one direction..you'll never return.

what about the 3rd dimension in space of up and down?
Remember there is no gravity or sense of time in space.

Cheers,
Bob.

the universe is expanding but 1 day it'll contract until the reverse of the big bang, called the big crunch occurs. then the big bang probably happens allover again.

....if there is enough critical mass, that is, matter to supply the gravitational pull, for the big crunch. If not the Universe will keep expanding. It's been a long time since I've read this stuff, but last I heard they were still looking for the missing matter.

But what do I know about astrophysics--it would take an extra 50 points of I.Q. to begin to grasp it.

mmm, yeah, that's where it gets kinda heavy. Unified field theory...it's actually 'spacetime'. Kinda both the same thing....and gravity is the distortion that matter makes in 'spacetime', like a bowling ball on a trampoline. If you think about it, what is time but something moving through space? ..an event. Okay, I'll shut up now because this is where my brain takes a nose dive and I'm in over my head. Don't you guys what Star Trek?! ..lol
