I'm in need a immediate help.
I have 5 females and 1 is twice the height of the other 4. I have raised the light as far as it will go. Plant top is approx. 12" from light. What can I do so my girl doesn't get burned? My hydro store recommended Bush Master. Any advice would be appreciated. See pix.

What type of light are you using? If you are using an HID light, did you just recently change to that from something weaker? They seem very stretched, a condition I am familiar with. It does look like you topped them or pruned them or did something to make those bottom shoots so thick and strong. At first glance, it looks like they are just majorly stressed from early on.

There is really not much you can do now, except for LSTing them and trying to train them to grow more horizontal. You could even lay them on their sides and let the shoots grow up. That would create a shorter plant. Other than that, I'd say, take clones and make sure they don't stretch that much next time.

They do look healthy, tho. Becareful flowering those, they'll grow so tall they will have to be supported for sure...and at that point, your light most likely would not reach the bottom shoots and leaves and they would die off. :(

Be cool.

Looks they are growing tall cause of the narrow pots. I think you should have topped them earlier to get a shorter wider plant. I've seen light fixtures that flex and carry five bulbs. You can screw in CFL's. Just an idea for more light closer to the buds without adding heat. Next time use wider pots if those are too small.

Am using hps 400 w. I think i raised the light too often and too fast. Been doing alot of lsting and the plants are looking much better. The plants are in cocotek blocks which sit on top of 2 layers of coctek mat. Am going to get CFL lamp and focus it on the lower plant of the plant.

tie those things down if you really start to have a problem, then you can gain much needed vertical space back so the light can be dumped back down on them. Your light as it is I think is a bit too far away 12", they probably won't get burned unless they are actually touching. Do you have air cooled venting?

best shit i have ever used to kill a sativa stretch is BIG BUD from advance nutrients, it will literally stop ALL vertical growth and make the buds so damn swollen its unrealistic, i use it the first week of 12/12 with all my sativas

u sua lly a sativa will get 3x its size in the beginning of 12/12 with big bud they get probly 2" taller with crazy big buds iv even had mold issues inthe middle of my buds cause ther so thick

My hydro dealer recommends Bushmaster. Any comments?

Been tying them down more each day but can't do enough to be able to lower the light.

What watt of CFL do you recommendfor the lower plant?

Here's a pix from yesterday beforelights out.

.

You could fit a wall-to-wall plexiglass shelf sealing off the hot air between the light and the growing space below.
The lamp will need exhaust ventilation though.
I did so and reduced my heat by about 8 degrees celcius.
Plexiglass has a light transmission of about 97% from what I've managed to google, higher than glass because it refracts less.

ive got exactly the same problem my plants were to tall and gettin burnt
the ones that were to tall ive tied them down so they are almost horizontal now they wont be gettin burnt in a hurry now.
thats probably the best thing to do ive put a pic here so you can see, you can jus make out the ones that have been tied they run across from one side of the wall to the other depending on your setup depends on how you should tie them so they get the best amount of light
hope ya fix it

also those pots look small might be jus the pic but if they are like only 1-2 litre pots id change them to bigger ones soon or the growth will be stunted especially if your flowering now to they will jus stop and get stuck an eventually die
this happened to mine to 3 weeks into flower they stopped and whent all upright due to roots not having enough room to grow out its not major issue but not really nice as if this happens then you change pots it takes the plants at least a week to get back in the swing of flowering and will mean you have to wait like 3 more weeks so instead of flowering for 8-9 weeks youll have to flower for 12-13 weeks if ya get me
if the pots are larger than they look then ignore this ive put mine in 18cm diameter pots holds about 2-3 litres these will hopefully do for my babies but the flowering had completely stopped and is only just startin to get back into flowering i changed pots over a week ago

just thought id let ya know so you can make sure it doesnt happen to you

Tie them off early so you grow banzai tree's ,instead of big tall plants with nothing but a top bud

They are growing in 4x4 cocotek block with 2 layers of cocotek mating underneath. The roots have grown down into the mating so I'm not worried. The roots have plenty of space to grow. The plants are now in their 28 day of flowering and i've been tying them down like crazy. Hopefully I can keep up with them until they stop growing and start to ripen.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.
