How long in flowering until crystals form?

I've got one scragly plant in flower and I was just wondering when I should start seeing some crystals?

usually 2-3 weeks into flower but some plants dont produce much at all and others all you can see is crystals

Depends on the strain, and in my opinion, it takes longer than 2-3 weeks to show. During the 2-3 weeks time, buds hardly form on the plant, instead, the top stretched upwards during that time.

I'm guessing anywhere from 4 weeks, you should see the start of trich production, but if it is a poorly grown plant, then the trichs will be lacking. Some strains carry tons of resin/trichs, while others don't pack as much.

Yeah my plant has been stretching like a mofo since I put it on 12/12, but I think that that growth may be slowing. It's forming some very hairy buds which look great, and I'm training it to lean a little bit to gain a little space as it doesn't have much upward space to grow anymore.

Im with Nochowder. 2-3 weeks in the plant hasnt normally even got any buds yet. The pistilles will still be growing, at about 4 weeks the buds will start to form, and so will the small bud leaves. It's NOW, at about 5 weeks in trichome production will start.

at 3 weeks my leaves had crystals on them

At 2 1/2 weeks I have nice full sticky bud growth. This only applies to one strain that I am growing, and the other one that comes from a Skunk x Big Bud cross has some skimpy looking buds at this point, but it has a longer flower time than the other strain. Really depends on strain.

I am in week 4 and have some nice buds and trichome production... Crystals Galore!!

Mine took 4-5 weeks to show sugary white trichromes.

Basically, as I'm sure you've figured by reading the answers - it depends on the strain and how it was grown through the rest of its life.
