I've heard it matches up well, but I've never tried it. I'd prolly feel like a jackass for doing it though. If pink floyd really made that album to synch up with the movie, then they were 'out there' more than I thought. Hats off to them if they pulled it off.

I've tried it many times. It's awsome. There are many times when the lyrics or music have a lot to do with the situation. Was it intentional? I have no clue.

There's a video matching the movie and album up on Youtube. At least I think it was Youtube. Anyway, I tried it about a month ago and made a thread about it, and yes, it's scary how perfectly it matches up. The pace changes with the scenes, the music perfectly exemplifies almost every movement, and overall you'd swear the album was made to match after watching it.

Dude are you serious? They have a DVD out now called Dark Side of the Rainbow or Dark Side of Oz. I have the version that's called Dark Side of the Rainbow.
It's BAD! The exact second that Money starts on Dark Side, the movie goes into color that instant. It's amazing. Also, like Slater said, a lot of the lyrics seem to match up with what's going on in the movie.
You guys should just go rent Wizard of Oz and put on Dark Side and have at it. Press play on the CD the exact second the MGM Lion roars for the second time.

I saw Roger Waters in concert last night and he did the whole Dark Side of the Moon album, as well as other kick ass Floyd songs. I was in the 12th row. Yes, I'm bragging. :D It was the most amazing show I've seen and I was blazed the whole time.

did you know the oompaloompas and smurfs are both from Oz?
the evil munchins banished the oompaloompas from their legendary 'oompa loompa' land which is actually known as OZ.
the oopaloompas were actually just a cannabis peoples whome, ate drank and consumed cannabis as their lively hood.
they existed without an economy and outside of the munchins laws.
the cannabis plant was grown with international oompa loompa grow quotas and was supplyied to the smurfs for free.
ever since the oompa loompas were banished the smurfs now live in a state of depression.
under munchkin oppression, the ninja turtles wage a secret war against the munchins fighting for the rights of the cannabis peoples of oz.

I did this with my bro and a co-worker after working a shift unloading trucks at Wal-Mart when I was 17. We got mega fried, ate some shrooms, and drank some brews, and it worked for us. Took us a try or two to get it lined up, but we figured it out. A lot of the parts match up. The part I remeber the most is when all the little midgets are dancing and singing when Dorothy first enters the colorful land, and they are all dancing to the beat of the Floyd tune.
It was tripped right the fuck out but I haven't done it since. It works but can be tricky lining things up right.
