Hey Guys,

I had some questions about the yearly cycle of an aeroponic garden. I was planning on starting a medium sized aero garden but was confused as to how I would keep it running after the first grow. These are the steps I see but I get lost a little ways down.

Step 1. Start with ten seeds and germinate them.
Step 2. Start seeds in rockwool cubes until they root.
step 3. put rooted cubs in hydroponic rainforest.
step 4. Take clones once plants are 1 foot high.
step 5. When the plants get to be a foot tall bring them into your aeroflo system for flowering stage.

Now heres where I get lost. What do I do with the clones that i just took before i put my veg plants in the aerflo flowering room. Its gonna be at least 8 weeks until I have enough room to put my cuttings into the flowering room (8weeks for the original plants to flower and harvest). do you think 8 weeks is to long for a cutting to be vegging in its hydroponic rainforest. If not is there a safe way to tranplant the plant and root system without causing damage to the plant? If anyone has any experience with an aeroflo system your input would be great.

I was thinking about just doing a sea of green method but im worried about salts building up and blocking the sprayers. So im gonna have to go in cycles if thats the case.

by the sounds of things ur using 2 seperate areas for veg and flower?
if this is the case make up an area for clones.
put them clones under UV lights. by the time ur veg plants r ready for flower ur cuttings will be ready for veg. the clones should grow quite happily under UV for a few weeks.

but i may be wrong lol im no expert :)

hope this helps

i personally wouldnt use rockwool in a rain forest!
the system constantly bombards the roots with nutes! if rock wool is kept this wet then it will rot the roots within the block!
skould use growrocs staight away! there are other mediums which include mixes of perlite and growrocs, perlite and hydro soils, coco, not sure about vermiculite!,,but never rockwool!the small cubes will fill the baskets completely and unless there covered from light on top the algae will form on the cube and possibly rot the roots!,,
if you read the info on the rain forest it will tell you all you need to know about using it! GH are forever metioning the disadvantages of using rockwool in this system! so i guess there already in them cubes!,, and the oly thing i can say is, get lots of roots out before you putthem in the system, andmaybe consider putting the motor to run for a few minutes ever couple of hrs or so! as oppossed to continually! saturated rock wool will kill the roots normally! but as the nutes are soo high in oxygen ,,,,,its got me questioning myself!!!,,,,,,,,,,,,let me know how they get on!

welcome to the world of endless possibilities,,,,,hydroponics!
