This paper should be required reading for all doctors, health practitioners, and medical facilities. It has to do with little known dangers of common foods that most people in Western society consume every day.

Below: Dangerous Grains, released August 22, 2002, explains the benefits of a gluten-free diet in relieving and preventing the ailments associated with celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, and more than two hundred chronic illnesses and autoimmune conditions.

Dangerous Grains turns the U.S. Food Guide Pyramid upside down by exposing myriad health risks posed by gluten grains (wheat, rye, barley, spelt, kamut, and triticale). The authors, leading experts in the field of food allergies and celiac disease, present compelling evidence that our grain-centered diet is to blame for a host of chronic illnesses. Largely misunderstood and frequently misdiagnosed, these disorders can be prevented and reversed by the useful program outlined in this important new book.
This exciting new book is authored by James Braly, M.D. and Calgary resident, Ron Hoggan, M.A.

Actually, my 16yo brother who has aspergers just got on the gluten-free diet, and half his problems have disappeared. last year he was taking grade 5 math and struggling away. this year, on the diet, he just did a big math test in his grade 10 (regular) class and got the highest mark in the class, at 98.5%. That and he's not having his freak-out tantrums anymore, his obsessive-compulsive disorder is maybe half as bad, he's stopped almost all his anti-social negative behavior, and his depression is pretty much gone. Maybe the reason Japan has the longest life-span in the world, yet one of the highest stress rates, is because they use rice and vegies as a staple.
